True that. Dad bought a Murrey pool table in the early '70s . . .

. . . that practically became a shrine of my high school years.  One inch thick 8' x 4' Italian slate in one contiguous piece, and made in LA.

Like all good things, it passed from my life.  A few weeks ago, a friend let me know she had to get rid of her pool table.  Turned out to be an 8 x 4 Delta, also made in LA in the early '70s, with a 7/8" one piece slate.

I made an offer, and we're moving it to Dad's garage next week.  (My place isn't large enough to accommodate it.)

Full circle.

The difference between then and now?  The cost of moving is five times more than the table itself!
