The total thickness of Elite Ultran Thin is 7.60mm. That's the reason for a small diameter crown, I guessed its about 4.5mm.
For winding it is no issue. As the movement is auto Elite 681, just a quick twenty to thirty turns will give it sufficient power and then let the auto mechanism takes over.
