Zenith

Yes, I think the 'El Primero' brand is reserved to 5 Hz escapement...

and not so much to the Cal. 410 and its derivatives. Plus, I am sure that the escapement is very close to the chronograph movement's one:

I had the chance to inspect the watch in the metal on sunday. I have to say that its greatest mystery lies it its fusée chaine - not only optically, but mostly in its tactile sensation. If you have the chance to see and touch it, do it and wind it up!. Once you experienced this you understood what's all about it!

But its for owners only...

Regarding size, I think it is quite manageable and the watch wears extremely well.

As for the price, it depends where you are coming from. If you look at it from the point of having the force constante mechanism as a (really rare and delicious) addition - the watch offers al to for the money.

But some people consider it a Christophe Colomb Hurricane sans hurricane (gyro tourbillon mechanism). Then the balance sheet might look different.

I think this is where the controversy has its origin. My point is that the watch offers a unique combination and pleases a collector's heart as well as his/her intellect alike. The rest is an issue of taste and appreciation, and there's little we can do about it.

I for one am glad Zenith offered this watch.

Best,
Magnus
