A new Zeitwerk is born, this year: The Zeitwerk Date.
The movement is eye catching, as often, with Lange.
What do you think?
The case is bigger than the original Zeitwerk (44, 2mm ) whilte the original was 41, 9 mm big, and tad ticker ( 12, 3 mm versus 12, 2 mm ).
The combination of white gold and grey dial is very nice. But what about the date surrounding the dial?

I like the new date display and the new movement looks better too.
However, aesthetic wise, the date display takes up a portion of the entire dial and not sure how it will blend in with the hour/minute display.

Zeitwerk is one of the very original design in recent times...
Adding a date to it, I thought wouldn’t be possible but I would say ALS have done it aesthetically well (yes the color scheme is too serious/dull but it is Lange...).
I also like the way the date is highlighted in RED, well thought out !
If anything I don’t like, 42mm original was testing the limits already & going to 44mm - I’m not sure, to be seen in flesh!
If I buy, I’ll go for the original 42mm WG Black dial version - IMHO

At least the date is well integrated, in that sense that it doesn't kill the dial by making a hole in it. But still, I prefer the original, smaller and maybe more " conceptual ". [nt]

I don’t think they have done themselves and favor with the date ring color scheme....
I personally loved the Zeitwerk and they corrected what was wrong with the old technically but this date ring and color is awful. My 2 cents
The date was unnecessary
It is too small and in red. IMO they should have left this one alone, it was perfect as it was.
I really like this evolution of the Zeitwerk
The addition of date and quick-set functions have vastly improved day to day wearing practicality of the watch. The ability to adjust the hours independently in 1 hour increments should also come quite handy when travelling. The movement as well is improved, and I think that beyond doubling the power reserve, Lange would have made other changes resulting in greater reliability and durability. I can imagine Zeitwerk Date being a very strong proposition in luxury-casual category, especially if Lange ever decides to offer it in steel or titanium.
For me it is a tough call between the purity of the original Zeitwerk and the practicality of the Zeitwerk Date, but both are winners against the Striking Time.

The grey dial is very nice, but i prefer 42mm and without date. Stronger with black and cleaner dial. [nt]

This version doesn’t really do anything for me if I am being honest...
I would have loved to see a chronograph Zeitwerk. Maybe a mono counter in place of the power reserve. Possibly not the direction ALS wants to go with the 1815 and datograph already in the lineup. The technical complexities may also make it to big, but one can dream.
