Is the Cabaret ever coming back?......
I know that rectangular watches are still not "in style" but Lange really did a phenomenal job with their Cabaret line when in production. I always thought that the Cabaret was much nicer than the few Revero's that I've owned. Obviously enough of that model wasn't sold so it was discounted but I'm wondering if Lange will ever do a refresh of this line? I guess it ultimately depends on the current trend.....

The quality and craftsmanship also exceeds the Tank, Reverso, and Prince by quite a wide margin.

When i see a brand have rectangular watches, on websites mostly, chrono24, it is strange but i have no eye for it.

I can't predict what Lange will release next (and yes, market expectations do matter *hugely* when a brand is not independent!), but I can tell you this is one beautiful and classy piece!

The Reverso is the icon, but the Cabaret is a very elegant watch I always wanted to get. In platinum, with its black dial, for me. [nt]

I don't expect the re-release of the Cabaret
but with Moritz Grossmann Cornerstone and Lang & Heyne Georg there are very nice rectangular watches available from Saxony.
The moonphase is such a beautiful, balanced dial
Out of fashion watches are good - better value for real collectors as they leave "traders/flippers/speculators" out of the equation.
I tried one in Tokyo many years ago, and it was indeed appealing (simple yellow gold). But I tend to see rectangular watches as a last leg of my collection. My wrist is also quite narrow so they tend to stick out quickly.

Would look great in white gold and/or platinum. I wish Lange would have done one with a silver dial like the Lange 1 MP.
I guess they are not coming back. The Gondolo had more modern designs, yet the male versions were all discontinued recently. So i guess its gonna take a long time for those kind of pieces to
come back. A superb movement, though!

The Apple watch is rectangular and likely the worlds biggest seller. Richard Mille watches are rectangular, tonneau, and the round pieces sell for much less.
Shaped watches have a long history and were very popular for decades. The Cartier tank is an all time classic and is still sold. The salient issue is that classic dress style watches are not in vogue but sporty Richard Mille or Apple watch are. Even the more versatile and casual shaped watches, like the Patek 5124g and entire Gondolo line, as mentioned already, were recently discontinued. The Cabaret's future will likely hinge on a dress watch revival rather than shaped watch revival.
I don't think the Reverso was a direct competitor to the Cabaret even though they are both rectangular...
I will say that the Cabaret is an exceptional watch and something that Lange could possibly bring back in the future with a couple of tweaks.
