Horofatigue
I've been experiencing a fair amount of horofatigue as of late. I'm not alone, as several of my watch collecting friends whom I keep in touch with are endorsing similar lackadaisical sentiments toward horology. Perhaps it's the constant deluge of new releases from young independent watchmakers, or the soaring costs and delivery times, or the realization of rampant fraud polluting the vintage dealer and auction worlds, or the Sisyphean feeling that I'm caught in an interminable rat race toward the next best watch, or a combination of all these factors and more.
The Zeitwerk has calmed me down and reinvigorated my love for watches. It's beautiful, playful and unique, making use of the remontoire function to display time in a wholly original manner.
I simply love it.

I don’t know why, since nothing specific happened, although your considerations make a lot of sense. I’ve also seen similar past posts where it seems to be a phase. At this point, i’m more content to live vicariously through you all, but without pining after any specific pieces myself. As such, your Z marvel would make anyone content! This has always been a dream model for me, but I wished they made your color way in platinum as well.

Oh yeah, ZEIT is just so freakin' cool ... what imagination, what conception, what execution!
Obviously, it has won many, many awards since its release, which shows that many people, including the experts who handle watches regularly, feel the same way.
Also, an entire 1.5 hours episode of HSNY talk was dedicated to just this one model ... there is so much to explore and appreciate!
And, it has been released like ~15 years ago, and it's still as fresh as day 1 ... how many avant-garde watches of today will survive the test of time?

Yes, a bit of everything... Not very interesting releases, mad prices, arrogance... I am happy with what I have, I still have a wish list, but way much reduced. And I will reduce my collection, too.
Yes well stated. The watch houses have become lazy and vulgar in their attitude. They need to be punished! - I live in the UK so I am on a watch buying strike!!!
For me it's less about boredom. It has more to do with having satisfied my desires.
I think the stage of life one is in has something to do with it.

I share your feelings and thoughts. And its interesting to see that others do so too. The reasons may of course vary on individual basis, but I do think that what you have stated about the industry and market have a significant influence.

Currently overthinking my collection and looking at which direction i will continue . The current market and application situation isn’t how i like it or how we now it a few years ago . Hope it will change for the good in the near future or if it will stay like this i just keep enjoying what i have 🙏🏻
