Incoming: Lange 1 Moon Phase
Thrilled to add this captivating piece to my collection! 
In past posts, I speculated that a Lange 1 would possibly be next on my horizon. I was fortunate to own the regular Lange 1 in pink gold a few years ago, however I came to find it kind of a challenging piece: I know it is an icon and I was intellectually & visually attracted to the brilliantly-calculated asymmetry - yet, on wrist, I just didn't find enough "life" in the dial and hands. This model certainly addresses that!
Several other owners of this beauty here - hello to each of you. In more recent times, I've been particularly inspired by Dimardi's posts and photos of it (and that plum strap!). Thank you all.
A more detailed post to follow once my "in use" impressions form. It will be a weekend wearer for me being more relaxed - though no less stunning - than my other Langes, each in pink gold.

I'm curious about the failed bond with the regular (non-moonphase) Lange 1 in RG. Do you think you might've enjoyed a different dial/case/hands combination, either from Lange's current lineup or preowned -- that you might've felt the dial and hands had more "life," for example? Or do you think that any standard Lange 1 wouldn't quite be to your liking?

Yes: I think I may have enjoyed one of the early YG examples with all blued hands. Per my previous posts, I grew into Lange loving the 1815, which, other than special editions, always had at least one blued hand and most-often had all blued hands. I always particularly liked the contrast with the argente dial. For me, I think the precise point is that blued hands on the standard Lange 1 highlight the magic of the asymmetry better than hands that match the case metal - they stand out more and thus make it more the “feature”. Somewhat similarly, I am enjoying the lumed (and thus wider profile) hands on my current Lange 1. Interesting question - thanks. Which Lange 1s are you particularly drawn too?

I too prefer blue hands and/or printed markers, to increase the contrast. I am drawn less to the "classic" Lange 1 models that have the combination of applied markers and non-contrasting hands (such as the 101.021, 101.025, 101.032). An exception to that is the Lange 1A, which I like but has little contrast. These appeal to me:

We have similar observations on this matter! Lovely models you've chosen here - all of them. The second and last ones would be my favourites - that contrast is captivating indeed. I remember when Lange offered bracelets + when the Lange 1A was released with the guilloche dial. I've never seen that Moon Phase combo with all blued hands before. Best regards.
Most of the Lange 1A's had a blue steel second hand.
I believe numbers 1-20 had a gold second hand and 21-100 had a steel blue second hand, in general, but I recall seeing one exception to that general rule. The Lange 1 moonphase with the white dial, printed markers, and blue hands was made for the Italian market. I really like white-dial Langes. Notice that they used the fat hour hand on this model, too, rather than the thinner hour hand that we usually see.
Also, the bracelet on that Lange 1 isn't a Lange bracelet. It's a $200 steel Shinola bracelet (which I think looks better than the Lange Wellendorf bracelet due to the slightly curved endlinks).

They also made an interesting Grand Lange 1 for the Italian market...
... that had applied blue steel markers and hands. But it was the style with the overlapping subdials, which I don't like so much (and the date window looks too small to me).
This is my favorite iteration of the Lange 1 Moonphase.
