when it first came out, I wasn’t drawn to the new aesthetic. Over time it has grown on me and I absolutely love the LTD ( 100 units ) with those red accents against the gray dial. I do think it looks better on a bracelet as I don’t love those two connectors that attaches the case to the straps, it doesn’t look correct to my eye. I am a Huge fan of ALS, even though I do not own one, but would in a second. Just one man’s opinion.

As I've never been able to try one on (I've only seen them behind a display window), I don't fully know what to think about them, but I globally like them.

I agree with you Larry. I have never been a fan of this watch design, and it has yet to grow on me. Firstly it just felt like Lange felt pressure to get something into the steel sports watch category and this is it. Secondly, I don’t like the day/date layout. It just doesn’t look right to me, maybe too far out toward the edge. A thought on the big date that doesn’t just apply to the Odysseus, I have never liked the divider between the date numbers, and when the date is 01-09 I think it would look better with a 0 in the left date window rather than a blank box. Lastly, Lange has always made the highest of the high end watches that rival or equal the Swiss trinity, the best movements, the best finishing, in precious metal cases. I think they should have stayed in their lane and not been swayed by market/consumer pressure.

Even if ALS has given in to market pressure (that may be true), I sill find that they’ve managed to do things mostly their own way.

For me, it’s the bracelet all day long with this one 

And I like that it can be worn with a strap (rubber or leather).
But the bracelet is very fine indeed.

Your first photo of the Chronograph is an absolute cracker - what a stunning watch.

Yes, this first photo is quite stunning. But my personal favorite versions are the white gold (for the guilloché dial) and titanium (for the very nice shade of grey).

If you do get a chance to try one in person, please share your impressions. I'm curious to know what you'll think.

If I ever get a chance to try on an Odysseus, I will of course, but it seems a bit uncertain as they've made these watches fairly inaccessible.

Don't tell anybody, but my next target is actually the "basic" steel version 😊

The steel version makes a lot of sense, no doubt about that.

Let's see, because it's not easy to get, and not cheap either...

I'm more and more inclined for everyday watches that are easy to wear and match my lifestyle, and this one ticks a lot of voices in that field.

I took a leap of faith and bought one sight unseen. After staring at pretty much every picture on the internet and reading pretty much every review, I knew I wanted one. The steel one was always going to be the one for me—titanium wasn’t plausible and didn’t need another white gold sports watch.

In any event, the blind plunge was worth it for me. Fits on my 17 cm wrist and is extremely comfortable — the on the fly adjustments without even opening the watch are amazing. And the dial, to me, has a wonderful texture and complexity to it. Definitely worth it to find one to try on.

The steel version certainly makes a lot of sense. Still very hard to find though or to get an allocation.

especially as the WG is my favorite variant because I love the “guilloche” dial. I hope the wait will not be too long!
