The Lange 1 Oeding Erdel Edition
The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Oeding Erdel Edition is a 10-piece limited edition made in 2005 for for the Munster retailer Oeding Erdel.
The main 'hobnail' pattern of the guilloche dial is also featured in the most elusive Piece Unique Lange 1 'Honoris Causa', ref. 112-048: see below.
The 18K white gold case measures 38.5 mm and the watch is powered by manual-winding caliber L901.0.

I don't remember this one Emmanuel but it checks a lot of boxes for me.
The red gold appears to have better legibility which would be my only concern with the white metal version.
Overall, this ALS is highly appealing.

I like the first one
It reminds me a bit or engine turned dashboards in old cars. I think they should consider more dial variations to appeal to a broader - and possibly younger - audience.
Yes, it could be a good move for them,
but given their limited production I’m not sure they really want to broaden their audience. Just a doubt that I have but I might be completely wrong.

With perhaps only 1 exception, I never thought that guilloche or engraved dials matched well with Lange's Germanic austerity.
This piece doesn't change my mind.
Perhaps the only exception is the L1 MOP dial or the ladies L1 moonphase.
I do like the tremblage dials, though, and they seem to fit well with Lange's aesthetic.

This is the watch that got me into Lange. First one and first One.
Still photos (or at least my bad ones) can't adequately capture these MOP dials because they respond very differently in different lighting conditions. I think they look best in indoor lighting that's relatively low. But these dials never had broad appeal. I've often wondered if more people would like them after seeing them in person.
Is this the Soirée, ref. 110.030?
The guilloche dial looks wonderful and, on photos at least, I prefer guilloche dials to MOP. But I’ve never seen either in real life, so my preference doesn’t mean much.

I’ve seen on the dedicated Langepedia page that the guilloche is stamped: that’s disappointing.
Interesting. I would have thought that a stamped guilloche MOP would not be possible. MOP is not malleable.
