Enough beauty to forgive the flaw

What a lovely perpetual. This is one of those watches that reminds you just how gracefully Lange can do complexity. The platinum case has that quiet authority, and the overall balance of the dial is still beautiful despite the leap year display being a little awkward.
I agree with the room on that point. It is probably the one detail that keeps this from feeling absolutely perfect. Then again, the moment you turn it over and see the movement, most sins are forgiven. The Sax O Mat architecture and finishing are pure pleasure.
Some watches invite criticism because they are nearly great. This one invites criticism because it is so close to magnificent.
