but this model does not me dreaming of.
Maybe because for me Lange is more a manual watchmaker, even if this model is very high finished.
Seeing these photos, the dial is too "germanic" and without emotion. Just my personal feeling.
For me, I am much more sensitive and interested in the new FA Lange collection with higher level of decoration.
Whatever this Saxonia Annual Calendar is quite nice with all Lange standards,
Cheers,
Patrickh
Great finish a la Lange, but we expect that from every watch.
This annual c doesn t move me at all,it does what it says on the tin but no emotions.Considering that being a Lange it does not come cheap,I can t see the point of it.
This year Lange came with a lot of new models and novelties, but apart from the ZW louminous(watch of the year for me)the rest is pretty bland.
Sorry can t find the appeal of it,maybe in the flesh it is different.

I have the say the design is great and shows the beautiful craftsmanship just like every other Lange.
I don't agree it's a dumbed-down Perpetual, in fact I think it's a much cleaner version.
However, there's something in it that doesn't really speak to me. The same that the Lange Perpetual doesn't really speak to me a lot either. Perhaps because as a calendar watch, it lost a little bit of originality found in most Lange watches. Take an example, the Datograph, Lange 1 and 1815 are so originally looking you just take a quick glance at it and it's no doubt a Lange watch. They don't resemble anything like any other watches on the market.
Whereas for calendar watches, there's a high level of similarity between brands (Well of course! There's not many variants you could do with 3 sub dials..) and this Lange is not exception. If they manage a L1 Calendar Week, I think it would be more radical if they could do an annual calendar based on an extension of that, so basically it can be like a L1 Moonphase combined with the Calendar Week and either another sub dial or retrograde hand to show the month. Now THAT would be radical Lange.
This piece, unfortunately does not do anything for me.
I would much prefer to have a section or window for each month, rather then just a line.
The piece that is currently singing to me in the AC complication is the new Patek 5205
The dial doesn't flow the way some others do.

Richard.
I would go for this vs the Langematic perpertual as it looks simply nice.

... as they also show the time went by.
I am not sure wether I will like this fact or not but at least it is a new, a different mood that a watch can create.
Therefore I am more drawn towards a digital display like the PP 5396 in WG or RG.
The new 2010 version is just perfect!
Lange's new anual calender looks very clean, likeable and very readable.
No doubt about that: a very nice contribution from Lange to the horological world.

Recently, I just got a Saxonia Annual Calendar in Rose Gold. I really love this model, since the first time I met (Love at first sight ^^).
