Had a chance to acquire this piece, and couldn't pass it up. It's certainly consistent with my recent vow to sell off many of my more modest pieces and focus in on a smaller number of really special watches:

Congratulations, Gary, on this Datograph! A lovely executed watch with a convenient big date and a sapphire back which exposes the beauty of the movement.
Even if I would "concentrate" my collection, it would not do for this lovely watch, sigh ....
I find consolation in the fact that ALS as a German brand manage to compete with the overmighty Swiss watch manufacturers
