Guten abend everyone,

As you may have noticed from Xavier's post note, that my previous thread on the coverage of the Lange Zeitwerk striking time had to be locked, and i have to repost once again due to certain blunders that i did with the indiscretion of some of my photos.

As such i will be covering the event once more with this post, please feel free to browse through and notice the difference.

I sincerely apologise to Lange for my blunder, and they have been very gracious to me despite what i did.

I take the opportunity of the new thread to paste the reply I made to Moritz in the previous one:

I think my answer was too short.

Again, and I already wrote it several time, I was happy to see this Zeitwerk Acoustic because it is the first Lange striking watch. And I do believe that the Zeitwerk, due to the power coming from its movement was the right context to do so.

But it is because we love Lange, we know their potential, we know their staff, we know their ability to build complext mechanisms that we expect much more from them.

When they released their first Tourbillon, it was an awesome Tourbillon, the first with a Chaîne Fusée System.

When they released their first Chronograph, it was an outstanding chronograph, the first from Longines to get an instantaneous Minutes counter.

But when they released their first striking watch, I didn't feel the same.

The watch is nice and I would be very happy to have it on my wrist. But it strikes once per quarter! Even if it is "au passage", Lange is able to do and will do (no doubt about this) much better. I expect from them a watch which strikes different. I expect from them a new way to define the striking watch, Alarm, MR, Sonnerie, whatever they will unveil. I expect from them a complication "à la Lange", exactly what they did before.

It is the reason why I was disappointed. Not by the watch by itself. But because it is a Lange watch. And because I love this Manufacture and I know what they are able to do.

Too big, too thick, underwhelming complication.

I'd prefer Lange to stick to 40mm max, no thicker than 13mm.

But i find the size very appealing though!

And the actual product, i personally rate it 4/10. Quite disappointing.

Like i said I know that Lange is capable of doing something way more than this, in terms of function, volume, and plus we cannot hide the fact that we really were expecting more made it harder to give it a better rating.

I am not very sure what the added size is for.
