Montblanc

Great Contest

Congrats to the winners.  It was a difficult test especially considering that you could research the answers. But it helps to understand the engineering when you have to break it down.
Looking forward to the trip report.

Congrats to the rightfull winners and thank you MontBlanc and PuristPro!!!

Also, I think the difficulty of the questions really upholds the standards and passion of the Purists. A job well done to the winners!

The results speake for themselves and Thank you Montblanc for the challenge

The next person beyond these three moved in tow two wrong answers.

The biggest worry was that no one would get all correct and put the "Purists" honor at stake.

So I thank Tick Talk for saving our honor and Grumio and Izatis for their contribution.

The second and third winners even though they had the same result were chosen based on the time of their response 2nd was earlier than 3rd.  The final results was simple and straight forward.

Bill

Congrats to the winners! [nt]

Congratulations to Tick-talk, Grumio, and izatis!

First of all, many thanks to all for participating in this very difficult but interesting competition.  I found this particular competition to be extremely challenging.  The fact that the PuristSPro collective answered all the questions correctly (except for the first one) is incredibly impressive.   According to our 1-7-8, together we prosper concept, we are all winners.

Secondly, I also have to thank Montblanc for arranging this wonderful competition, complete with prizes.  It truly was an impressive gesture for an amazing watch and Montblanc's generosity is just as impressive.

Many thanks again!

Very interesting contest indeed...

Smart questions, some of them take you slightly deep into watch engineering. And this is very exciting and unforgettable to find answers in the middle of mechanism.

My sincere gratitude to Montblanc and PuristSPro for this contest which forced mind to think )
Also thanks to all who found some nice words of congratulations.
And special thanks to all participants and rivals, with you this 3d place especially implies.

But winner is always worthy and I wish to Tick Talk the informative and memorable journey to Montblanc Manufacture Minerva in Villeret.

My best,
Vitaly.

Big congratulations to the winners

A few congratulatory words from Mr. Alexander Schmiedt

 By: mkt33 : November 18th, 2012-13:30

Dear Purists,

Thanks for your great participation in this contest. But in fact, I have to thank
the Purist community for this. Because the first inspiration to do this contest came
from your very own ranks. I am regularly visiting Purist- and of course the MB
Forum. When I read KIHs post end August of Bartos presentation of the Bifrequence in
Tokio and saw how the discussion picked up on the "black box" and how the system
works, the idea of the contest came up. As for patent reasons we were only able to
disclose the mechanism on October 18 2012, timing for a contest in September also
seemed perfect.

As the discussion on the Tokio post went already really into rocket science, we on
purpose we wanted to make the contest really technical. Because we really wanted to
get participants involved in the beauty of the construction.  So whom better to ask
to drawup the questions than our construction team in Villeret? And they delivered
on what we asked for- the questions were really, really technical!!

Honestly, sometimes in the middle of the contest I feared that we had been almost
overdoing it. Glad to see that we did not- and that Purists lived up to challenge.
So here is a big congratulation to the entire Purist community. You have taken up
this challenge and done very well. Shows the strength of this community and the
passion it brings to the world of watchmaking. We- the brands- should be very
grateful for having you as our supporters- and critics.

Of course my special congratulations go to izatis, grumio and tick talk as the
winners of the contest. You can be really proud of being on top of the "Purist
pyramid" in this contest. And I am very much looking forward to welcoming tick talk
in Villeret very soon.

All the best
Alexander Schmiedt

Congratulations to the winners, and a sincere thank you to Mr. Schmiedt and Mont Blanc

Many thanks!

The closeness that the Montblanc team works with PuristSPro really benefits both the Montblanc brand and the very fortunate members of the PuristSPro community.

Many many thanks to Montblanc, Alexander Schmidt, and the whole team for hosting and organizing this momentous contest.  We all look forward to the exciting developments at Montblanc, especially when it constitutes tour de force engineering such as the amazing technological watches within the TimeWriter series.
