Bulgari

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I can't believe that we're already in the middle of February. Only another month away is Baselworld 2011, and then shortly thereafter ThePuristS will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary with IGOTT2 at the end of May in Las Vegas. We've all seen the announcements of the first (of several) PuristS 10th Anniversary watches with the MB&F 'choco Frog. It's been fun reading about the around-the-world debuts of this watch as we all anticipate our visit to Las Vegas. So this got me thinking.... What IF ThePuristS collaborated with BVLGARI to produce a special watch to commemorate the 10th anniversary? What would it look like and which model would it be? Would a PuristS choose a classic BVLGARI-BVLGARI case? The Carbongold limited edition version have been very successful since it's introduction in the early 90's. Maybe it would be a variation of the Carbongold like the recent ViaCondotti:

Or how about something from the Daniel Roth line like the Endurer? Wouldn't it be cool to have an all blacked-out version with a rubberized strap?

Or how about going to the extremes and creating a special version of one of my dream watches, the Gerald Genta Sapphire Tourbillon:

There's such a large range of watches to pick from. I'd be interested to hear from everyone what you would envision the LE to be

Yellow! But which particular model? I would guess something sportier like the X-Pro.
Or how about an Octo Ceramic with yellow carbon dial with a matching rubberized yellow strap?

Would you want one with the clear coat (like the AP RO Bartorelli) or raw bronze like the GG Gefica? Would the bracelet be rubberized with bronze accents? There's so many variations to consider as an idea for the perfect P10 LE.

Welcome to the Bulgari forum.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts.  The Sotirio is great idea since it was launched in 2009 to mark the 125th anniversary of Bulgari.  I'm guessing that based on your specs you'd want to see one with the in-house produced Bulgari Caliber 168 movement?

For me, one of the most important feature of a "Sotirio Bvlgari for PuristSPro" must be the new Manufacture caliber.

My proposal regards only the aestethical solutions. In my opinion and for my tastes, the Sotirio has a wonderfully personal and strongly masculine case, but its dials slightly lack of these important characteristics. So, I've imagined a special version that, first of all, displays only the time, without any other complication; then I'd like a new, plainer dial, with a deep dark blue hue and without the enormous (and anonymus) "XII"; finally, a contemporary touch with the brushed case and bracelet instead of polished ones.

I'm asking too much??? Maybe I'm proposing a revolution - not simply a personalization!

Interesting idea.  What are your thoughts on a dial like the X-Pro where it's multi-layered with a dark blue hue as you suggested along with the hour markers appearing to float on top?

We know watches appreciate substantially as result of co-branding and partnerships- think Patek Philippe Tiffany&Co, or Patek Philippe Reversos. As such, we commonly see 2 companies collaborating.

What if Purists, as a successful non-profit watch community, successfully collaborates with Bulgari to create the 1st ever Bulgari Fantasy piece with mickey wearing a gleaming watch.

Now that will be a fantastic bluechip in the making.

I know it'll be hard to rally for companies to collaborate, but it's worth the try.

If you'd like, we could have members here e-mailing the CEO's of the mentioned companies about their support for such a piece.

Cool idea.  Which Mickey would you envision seeing, the original Mickey Mouse from Steamboat Willie in 1928 or the more modern one like in Fantasia?  Would Mickey have some type of theme like racing or just with the 'gleaming' watch?  Maybe if there's enough detail Mickey could be wearing the PuristSPro ABR LOL

I like the idea of steamboat Willie a lot.I wish they did that earlier. Why don't you start a thread on 'bring back mickey' here and let the purists decide on their vision of a LE fantasy piece. In my opinion, the fantasy is as iconic as the sub and RO and reverso and should be brought back by hook or crook!

Good idea ATM, we can't ignore the ladies out there!  Even though there's a trend for ladies to wear larger watches (like Panerai) I wonder which Bulgari model would be best suited for a P10 edition.  A stylish Serpenti (I'd vote for a regular one, not the new 7 coil) or B.Zero1 with the hearts motif.  Even the Assioma D is pretty elegant yet versatile for everyday use.
But i'm sure you'd like a little bit of bling too no matter which model

Even the Bulgari rings have tons of options like stainless steel (a la Anish Kapoor) or the popular ceramic ones.

But back to watches... there's gotta be at least one model that stands out that could be a potential candidate for a P10 edition.  Looking forward to reading your thoughts on this

As a PuristSPro watch, it needs to be something standout and special.

I think the Daniel Roth Endurer watch with the blacked out case would be unique.

However, after thinking about it some more, I wonder what a Gerald Genta Octa Bi-Retrograde would look like with the blacked out case. Perhaps this could be added to the list of potential candidates.

I'm sorry if I'm not much help, as I've seemed to expand the possibilities rather than condense it.
