Such a hard decision...
But I pulled the trigger yesterday, delivery mid August!
Thanks all for sharing your views and insights, after hours and hours (even a few sleepless nights) of playing with the configurator i settled on the dark blue with Carrera wheels... but then visited the Porsche Zentrum Zug (next to Zurich, biggest dealer in Switzerland) to place my order... and went for a different scenario 
The minute I saw it I knew it would be shark blue! I wasn’t fully convinced by the pictures but it’s stunning in real life.
Main spec of my car: Carrera S with 7 speed manual transmission , sport chrono pack, PASM suspension (-10mm vs stock), sport exhaust, RS wheels, race tex (some kind of alcantara) interior, aluminium trim, no extra driving assistance (except speed limit reminder, mandatory in Switzerland , metallic silver “stripe” on the side as finishing touch. The sticker is clearly not necessary but I like the reference to earlier Carreras which often had side writing.

The 911 is 300kg lighter, getting back to the Audi felt like driving a wet sponge in comparison
One word on the purchase experience which was the best ever. The salesman booked a full 2,5h for us and started by giving us a tour of the “warehouse” where they keep their “special cars” and some customer cars for me to choose the color and wheels I like in real life: they had >100 cars including GT3 in almost every color, a GT2 RS, and even a 918 Spyder. No choosing from paint chips here
The salesman was extremely knowledgeable and gave good advice on what option to take or remove, no “hard push” for higher invoice.
Now counting the minutes until august

Got my first porsche a month ago as my daily driver, but went for the electric. Fantastic drive - althou a Carrera S is a whole different experience.

Congrats. It is not uncommon for a car color to look boring on the configuration but looks “wow” in the flesh! Can’t wait to see live picture of your car when you get it!
Very many congratulations! It sounds like you had a great time and we’re well looked after. Great choice of colour, my car is in Miami blue but I really like the look of shark blue but I’ve yet to see it for real

Ones i was at a Mini dealer, the trade lady went on putting the invoice higher and higher with useless options. The outcome was, i did not bought a car.

The last time i’ve got bitten by Hublot, and the options to see which straps combine nice with the many models.

- it s also surprisingly practical, with 2 2 seating, usable boot and easy to drive and park. Congratulations

That’s in itself making the 911 in a league of its own, there is no concurrence to move a family of 4 at this level of performance. I considered R8, Aston Vantage, Corvette, etc... all great choices but lack of back seats makes it too impractical for me

I was one of the folks who recommended the dark blue but two days ago I was behind a new Turbo S Cabriolet this color and thought, well you sure can't go wrong with that choice either!
