Comments:
The car is visually and audibly loud which attracts a lot of attention from bystanders (good and bad). Upshifts and downshifts are violent where it feels like you are being kicked by a mule. Burbles and cracks and pops are also loud on the downshifts. I passed a cyclists and he literally almost fell of his bike he was so startled ( and I was trailing him for a good while so it's not like I surprised him) The car does not feel as surgical and planted as a Ferrari or Porsche. But that's to be expected its a quasi off-roader with off-road tires and lifted a little. So I don't expect it to be planted like the other cars. It has a little body sway when you are aggressive around the turns. The Ferrari and Porsches are more subdued visually and audibly that's good and bad. Sometimes you just want a car that is opposite your personality like a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde and this car produces it in spades. Is this car funner than my other road focused cars? Absolutely, it's the equivalent to going on a rollercoaster and wanting more of that thrill ride. The back end will break loose in Rally mode which is what you want sometimes. Also, my kids absolutely love the car which makes me love it even more. For the Swan Song for Lamborghini's V10 it's a wonderful way to go. I will post more as I spend more time with the car over the summer enjoying this axe murderer of a car.

I think kids naturally are attracted to bright colors and I believe that our inner child in adults is as well.
It's whether or not we are comfortable owning such a bright colored car. Seeing bright cars at get to togethers or on the freeway always brought a smile to my face. But I always thought I could never own something that bright. However I do feel that if you swallow the Lamborghini pill you have to do it entirely and embrace the ethos of the car being bright and bold. After doing it, I am so glad I did. When I walk pass the car in the garage it just brings a smile to my face. Especially when winter sets in after everything is so grey and wet it will be nice see a dash of color.
I will certainly try. We are planning a 3 day drive to Montana for my buddies birthday.
But they are all Porsche guys so I will have to drive a porsche but I will try to document that drive as best as I can.

There may be a "quiet mode" somewhere if you read the book
I remember test driving an Aston a few years ago and it was so loud and harsh-shifting, with fake throttle blipping on the downshifts that I was embarrassed to be in it. A few stabs at the screen got me to a non-hooligan mode and it behaved itself like an English gentleman should.
When I bought my Corvette, it literally exploded into life. I asked about that and they said No, there's no quiet startup. Our garage is sideways on the lot and the kid's bedroom next door was about 50 feet straight behind the exhaust pipes. I could see their curtains pulled back every time I went out in the early morning... great for the kids but their mom wasn't that impressed.
Now if I could have kept Kim's red Porsche parked sideways behind the Vette, that would have dispersed the sound, but I didn't think of that ploy at the time.

For sure if you drive it in Strada mode it is very quite. Which I put it on when I'm back in my neighborhood out of respect for my neighbors.
But when I'm on the open road you want the theatrics of it all, or else what is the point? In Strada mode and if you're cruising, the car will actually operate on 5 cylinder banks to conserve fuel but once you put the pedal to the metal all banks come alive.
Take it out of Sport Mode!
If you put the car into Strada mode, it's fairly quiet - except for start-up. Start-up is loud no matter what. You don't get the exhaust pops in Strada mode though.
I haven't driven the Strada, however, the normal Huracan is pretty good. It's fairly "surgical" - a good No. 10 blade - although the steering is a little numb - even in the RWD version. I haven't driven the Sterrato version, but it's SUPER DUPER COOL! And it makes the car somewhat practical in a certain sense. Does the Sterrato version even need the "front end lift?"
I'd say your kids have good taste! This one is a keeper! Who knows... You might even want to get a normal RWD Huracan EVO!
Sterratos do not have a FAL.
And I agree with you Patrick it’s a keeper. I’ve never driven or owned anything like it. I prefer it over the Dakar. It actually has had me thinking that I should add an aventador to the collection in the future. As adding another N.A. V10 is redundant (they almost had me at buying an STO as well but it's the same engine just more track focused), but a N.A. V12 is not.

I can't say I liked the Aventador S as much as the normal Aventador - something about rear steer is just not something I like - I'm told by many professional drivers that you get used to it. But I only had an hour with the Aventador S and I didn't get used to rear steer. So, perhaps, I'd like it more if I got used to it.
I haven't driven the 911 Dakar - nor the Sterrato - but I have a feeling I'd like the Sterrato more.

It's a historic Lamborghini color called Verde Scandal found on the early Miura.
