To be honest, the 5960 has never caught my attention on pictures...
Because of you Kari and generally all 5960 owners, I decided to try this piece on...
So I did so this morning in Geneva... And OMG, this watch is really cool
And it's certainly a collector.
Well, they have one in stock, and I'm afraid I will step forward !!!

Kari, would you be OK to give me the details of the guy who did your own custom rubber strap?

This is really cool Patek! I love the material choice (steel!), the contrast in colors and the complications!

I tried it on in London last week and I loved it, bold, very unique and sporty, definite collector. Very comfortable and superb legibility. Go get it !

I hated it when it fitrst came out...... but as time has passed, it has grown on me. Steel chrono from Patek......you just don't see many of those...so in that sense, it has an important place. The watch itself is colourful, but actually...as Kari and JC suggest, when its toned down with a strap rather than the bracelet, it becomes cool.
Its a watch that could grow and grow.

But then...by definition....there can typically only be one on an immediate list.

And as I love to wear my rubber strapped Aquanaut everyday (when I train) I won't wear the 5960 in this same occasion.
Well I'm thinking of keeping the steel strap because of this unique look, and the old style steel chronographs "tribute".

My mind is almost done...

and with the right outfit it was really well looking (at least to me).

However, the 5960 is a fantastic reference, in any material combination. This one is very different but has this sporty-racing look I like a lot and that looks nice with a touch of elegance (this kind of theme is usually more "raw"). Great value for money in that steel version.

You seem to have had a nice time in Geneva, their welcome is top notch.

The Paris salon had it on display since forever. Maybe they try to create artificial waiting time?

It used to be when a PP model is discontinued, it becomes hot and sort after, but look at this white dial 5170G.
It is discontinued 2016 but it's everywhere, negotiable.
For this 5960/1A, shouldn't be technical since it's similar to earlier 5960P but sorry, I only know this much.

Hopefully I do not lose any credibility by saying this. I know it is not exactly the same, but it certainly bears a strong resemblance in my eye.

Naturally I will help you with the strap. Let's communicate through PM during the weekend. I am still on my way from Singapore to home and chilling in the lounge in FRA.

Will try to grill the SA. For me from the moment it was released it has been a great watch! I like everything about it: the case, the color, the bracelet; all except one thing - I find no use for chronographs in general; thus this watch is not high on my priority list.

or check how fast you can piss of your wife. My record is around 20 secs. From smile to burning her fuse. Chrono is a very useful tool. 

This might be helpful for cooking! Way better than setting the timer on the oven or smartphone. OMG, revelation!
