I've been hunting for my first vintage Patek for some time, particularly a time-only and over-sized Calatrava from the 40s or 50s with a seconds subdial. With the help of a private collector, I just landed this gorgeous 35mm Ref. 2452 from the early 50s (still waiting for the Extract to confirm its exact birthday). Love the stepped lugs, and the light patina on the right side of the case, which appears to have been rarely if ever polished (very deep hallmarks!). Thrilled to have this piece of horological artwork in my very modest collection (which if my wife has anything to say about it, will stop RIGHT HERE...).
Love the watch, but always feels good (and re-assuring...!) to know that others share my appreciation for it. As a relative newbie, it's a scary proposition to pull the trigger on anything like this.
