Love that Patek is putting auto movements in sporty women’s watches but man did they fail on the look/design. Glad I got my wife her lady RO auto AP when I did.

But Patrick don’t forget a lot of Chinese customers buy the name and not the watch itself. So it could still do well in the market.

Absolutely. It will likely sell well.

Ferrari's California was known to be a "starter" Ferrari, it was initially shunned. But now it's very popular. This Patek Philippe will either be very popular from the beginning or eventually be popular after a slower start.

    But it could also

Become the next Neptune like below said. Bottom line, for the price they are asking, I would buy rose gold Daytona for my wife every time.

And forgot to add, I agree with you, the original 24 is far better in design.

This is not their first foray into designing a follow-up (women’s) sports watch.

    Wonderful and insightful review.

My personal take is it is a sound move to introduce more options for women. The twenty four was intended to appeal to a new generation of women and has been most successful. Nowadays more women are more particular and interested and quite often I hear women asking for whether a particular watch is quartz or mechanical. Usually mechanical is what they would like. However many are primarily driven by the aesthetics if given the choice. So strategy should be aesthetically appealing mechanical ladies watch. A natural evolution of the twenty four. The thinking makes perfect sense.

Whether this release is successful or not will be evident in time. My personal take is 34mm, no date, different dial design twenty four.... so same bracelet, same case design, same movement. But that is just me.... oh, and water resistant to 100m.... just my 5c

You are right on the concept of modularity for this new collection. Spot on!

More strap options. Rubber and alligator off course with color options.

Patek made an Aquanaut with an orange rubber strap option on it, so why not make something similar for the new twenty 4?

I propose, all the automatic references to have this option added. It would produce a much better result.

    Cheers,

    R
