an "effortless design" is the point. Large, stainless, sporty pilot case, large easy to read luminous numerals, basic-appearing dial and hands (though not nearly so basic in execution as you might expect), wonderful dial color. Sort of un-Patek, but such a cool watch to wear, especially on a blue-green strap. Sometimes less is more, as we see over and over in the watch world. Throw on some jeans and casual jacket and this watch. Lots of details for such an "effortless" design.

As a unabashed fan of the 5522A, all I can say is that it's a great casually elegant look, historically accurate, and beautifully crafted with precise details such as its applied numerals that almost look painted on the dial. I'd love to sport one with jeans and a knit top while piloting a Porsche 911 with Houndstooth seats!
