His watch is a limited edition of 600 pieces for the Grand Exhibition in New York during 2017.

Would be particularly interested. I did own the 5524G just found this had huge gaps in dial but I know may people love this reference. Each to their own.
The bottom half of the dial using a 9 - 3 divider is vacant whereas the upper half has Patek PHILIPPE.
That looks unbalanced to me.
Perhaps putting "Geneve" in ...
bigger font near the 6 will help to gain better balance ?
Not a fan at all and I’m shocked at the exorbitant value of this watch. The 5524 travel time is far more interesting than this piece. Very bland and an unnecessary amount of bland real estate in the dial. Not worth the price of admission IMO. [nt]

I admire the simplicity of the watch...
...but this one would be better-served by a sub-seconds hand at 6. The bottom half looks very empty and it gives the dial an unbalanced look.

double the amount for 5522. Given it is made of steel and is a limited edition, 5522 has caught up in the secondary market with the 5524.

Seriously, I had a chance to try it on once in Boston (I probably still have the pictures somewhere), and it’s indeed a strikingly simple but fascinating piece! Glad it was as successful as Patek was hoping for when they released it in the US, and that it remains so popular all over the world👍

What a nice watch! I tried to get one when they were new, but did unfortunately not get an allocation at that time. And I refuse to pay the inflated gray dealer prices.

I like the watch, minimal, practical and all but...
... I'd have wanted to see it in the regular catalogue rather than as a 600 piece limited edition which is actually quite a lot for Patek. If it could be had regularly at MSRP after a short wait I might get one. Maybe Patek had been afraid an unlimited 5522A would have cannibalized the 5524G which is the less attractive watch in my eyes. An unlimited version would also have avoided the unhelpful tombstone on the display back. Given the small (for the oversized watch) off-the-shelf movement a solid case back might have been the better option anyway. Still a great watch as is but not worth current market price IMO.

Effortless design
To me the design is boring and effortless. The position of the lume on the second hand looks out of place as it sits too close towards the end of the hand. The hand set looks clumsy overall. The case is simple, but lacks the sophistication that we would ususally expect from PP. However, just my personal opinion. As someone else said: To each its own...
