I love Golden Ellipse.
The Ref.3605 model seems to be popular because it uses the same type of movement as the original Nautilus 3700.
But I prefer the modern models Ref.3738 and 5738, both have an irresistible charm.
My favorite point is the shape of the hand (perfect bar) and the non date window.

I have the 5738P, it’s not as much of a dress watch as people think. I wear mine all the time, I even wear it with tracksuits😂 does many duties…
Very nice post, full of taste on your part...in my view, the 5738 reference (in both of its P and R iterations) is impossible to surpass in terms of sheer elegance! Pair it with its 3738 predecessor, and you have a truly unbeatable dress-watch duo! ;-)
Thank you FabR. Until a few years ago, I wasn't interested in Ellipse at all. No, I thought it was rather uncool. However, I became more and more attracted to them, and now I am captivated.
Agree, I saw one earlier this year at a US AD (I don't visit them as regularly as Italian ADs, but it's always fun when I do -- last time I "found" a 5131R still stored in a safe! ;-), and here's the R version, which is definitely a gem!
I guess a reason is its "perfect" proportions, whatever this means (in certain areas of mathematics, the "golden ratio" does have an important meaning and shows up often in your work....the same is apparently true in nature). Maybe one day I will add one too!

Yep, that is precisely the number! ;-) The most important time I used this constant $\phi$ in a mathematical paper was probably when I was studying the growth of certain "differential posets" (I wrote quite a few things in this area while at MIT)....
....and after performing some miracles, $\phi$ explains precisely the largest growth of the posets! Anyways, art and nature are full of examples as well, and fortunately for us, also horology...and it's always great when all these areas intersect!

by the way, did you mention about not 5131R but 5738R on the former thred, regarding still stored in the Itarian AD ? sorry...
Nope, no typo there, but the 5131R was at a different AD (in a different US state) from the one that showed me the 5738R…the 5131 was a surprise also for me since that was my first visit, but sometimes small “miracles” may happen😉 Cheers.
No problem at all! ;-)) We are now big friends with that AD (and if they EVER sell this 5131R we decided that it will be mine, of course at MSRP....we'll see! ;-)
The PP Elipses are not my usual type of watch ... but the more I look at them the more they attract me ... one day probably ...
