Sadly I no longer own this 1st series. With only about 100 made, 2 tone dial and snap back the 1st series is very special and historically important. Mine had a solid snap back.
There were a few, actually 3971s, with see thru snap back. Your watch loos stunning! Congratulations on owning such a nice watch!

Yes mine is a solid back too, a friend has a 3971 snap but missing the two tone dial unfortunately !
love it so much would honestly be ready to get a second one - one to rock, one to stock hahaha
While it won’t be easy maybe eventually you can find one with a see thru snap back to differentiate it from yours.
Yes I would love that ! but most of them had dial changes so it's very difficult to find one with the original two tone dial !
To me this is a second series as I don't believe they made any platinum first series (snap on caseback), gorgeous gorgeous watch, miss mine terribly !
Yes- you are right 👍. I remember when I bought them it was early serial- the ones I miss- both an early 3940 and 3970- I’m bummed to not have them any longer- regret the decision. Was looking at a RG but it isn’t the same to me as a white metal or YG
I think the Rose gold is a nice in between ! and for the money you save compared to a white metal you can get a 3940j first series to go along with it haha
Sublime ! That case looks very very very sharp indeed ! I love how transitional and almost experimental these feel compared to even a 2nd series !
