Hi All, From the 2024 novelties , my top 3 references due to

aesthetic reasons and wrist presence.  I love these dials and prefer sharper strap colors to spice them up (similar to 5968 orange strap).  Would you keep the original straps or prefer other colors ?

Which reference(s) from 2024 do you like ?

5236p only tbh

Great!

I really like all of them, and I think the current straps are great with the exception of the denim strap that is horrendous. It’s as if they completed the watch and then invited Britney Spears from 1997 to design the strap.

Leather rather than denim

would be better IMO

Any strap on 5890's is a serious breach of "common sense aesthetics"

I agree, there's something off about the 5980R on a strap

Even though it's obviously a gorgeous piece, the way the case transcends into the strap with the link looking like a huge bulge in the center just looks weird to me.

Cheers,

Pieter

Yup, this looks so much better !

Thanks Gordon for posting some of the new watches and showing more daring strap possibilities. I am a huge Patek fan. It pains me to write that I am extremely disappointed

by all the “new” offerings you show which are mostly rehashes of existing references in different metals/dial colors, none of which I find to be particularly creative or appealing. All the dials are basically the same except for a different color. Compare this to 5270 and 5396 where different dial configurations creatively enhanced the references and offered meaningful and often beautiful variations.

As far as your alternative straps as the saying goes “you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear”.

The 5330G which you don’t show, offers something different by adding a date, but I find it to be far less attractive than the recently discontinued 5230P.

Hopefully, Thierry will soon introduce the totally new line he has referred to and it will be sufficiently captivating to more than make up for this underwhelming group of faux novelties.

I feel very sad to be so negative, but this my my honest opinion.

I totally agree with some of the previous comments

I find these "new" releases a bit underwhelming compared to some of the new offerings from competitors such as Lange, AP, Vacheron and even IWC (different tier than Patek, but still).
This coming from a huge Patek fan and owner of several of their watches.
Cheers,
Pieter

Thanks Peter for

Nice strap combinations!  Maybe Orange on the 5236 works as well?

I agree with Patekova…this release was “Meh” for me.  Looking forward to the new line of watches that Thierry mentioned that would be released soon.  Hopefully will know more next week?
