Patek Philippe

Without the hour arabics, it breaths new life into this design.

It gives more space to allow the minute track and sub seconds to shine.

I agree with you.

Have a great weekend. Best, Emmanuel

Another shiny iteration.

Awesome pics and write up!

The latest version is probably the only PP I’d actually consider for myself. But I passed for a couple reasons. Would have been better if they made a 38 mm case instead of 40, 20 mm lug width instead of 22 and a dial matching date wheel (which based on my very limited knowledge of PP, doesn’t seem to be their thing). Overall an attractive piece , and I can see the appeal

I find it also a pity that they got rid of the 240 micro rotor.

The 6007A-001 is too cool. Enjoy!

Cool is the right word!

Sporty calatrava for the win!

My favourite here also is the 5000 series.  G then J.

Although the G is the sportiest and under the radar, the J has the same flair that the 5070J does.

Less is more?

Thanks for pointing out the 5000J: I've been able to add it to the thread!

And I agree with your comparison with the 5070J.

In need of some sizing advice

 By: asthmaticgorilla : May 22nd, 2025-16:14
Hi all. First time poster long time lurker. I have had my eyes on the PP 5000, 6000, and 6006 for a while now. My wrist is on the larger side (18.5cm and flat (60mm flat)). The challenge is that I can't find any of these watches to try on in-person so I'm left guessing and reading reviews. I love the 5000G/J, and I've heard that they wear much larger than 33.4mm. Any feedback on the sizing and fit would be much appreciated. I know I would love it once purchased, but the idea of purchasing it and it being much too small frightens me. But is 33.4mm just too dainty for a 60mm flat wrist? Would G or J make a difference? Thank you in advance for any help.

I currently have a Rolex Sub 114060 (40mm) and PP Aquanaut 5167r (40.8mm)- they fit great.

Warm welcome to you as a poster!

Unfortunately, even though I've done this thread, I've never seen one of these references in real life, so I can't answer reliably your questions.
But hopefully someone else will be able to.
Best, Emmanuel

Thank you sir!

EDIT: just measured my wrist again and it's 19cm (7.5"). I'm just not sure anything under 36mm will look good

Indeed, I think that with a 19cm wrist, you should

rather consider models above 36mm.
Have a nice weekend.

I tend to agree

Have a nice weekend as well!

Patel 5000 tends to wear like a 36mm watch because of the lugs

 By: Nicetomeetyou : June 11th, 2025-13:07
I heard this first from Tim Mosso.   From my experience, this is also true.

A 36mm 5 digit datejust has a tad/slight more wrist presence due to the thickness and 20mm lug width

Hope this helps

Thank you

Yes, this does help. I think the 5000J will fit just fine. May take some getting used to but it's such a classic fit that I don't think I will mind. Thank you again

Patek Philippe produced the 5026 between 1997 and 2002

Here I can show the 5026J

Very true. Gorgeous photos and watch.

I probably could/should have added it to the thread, though the case belongs to another family...
Thanks for sharing.

The 5000j would more to my liking. But the new model is also great. 😊

I personally don't respond to the 6007G:

 By: quattro : March 15th, 2025-10:58
too automotive-inspired for me. But the 5000J is definitely a great looking piece.
Have a great weekend, Geross. Best, Emmanuel

My fav among these is 6000G-001.

Great compilation.

Thank you, Goh.

I personally find the 6000's dial a bit too crowded with numerals. But it's also part of its charm, of course.
Have a great weekend. Best, Emmanuel

The sportification of the Calatrava

 By: RGS : March 15th, 2025-12:15
Great presentation and it showcases the sportification of the Calatrava in recent years. Personally I prefer this approach of casualizing a PP watch, much more than the introduction of something like the Cubitus. Calatrava line can incorporate both more classical pieces like the 6119 and more casual, like the 5226.

Cheers!
