Patek Philippe 5970P.
In my top 5 fav modern Patek.
Now if I had no limits in funds, well... That would be a different story.

That's where Patek is at its best. 5970g for me please, but that's only a matter of taste
There is no bad 5970. My preference goes for the P, but the G has a lot of desirability.

And I personally like P much more than other versions.
Interestinly, according to Hodinkee, it is estimated to have been produced in 300 to 500 examples only. Also, according to the same Hodinkee wonderful article "production numbers are not confirmed by Patek but John Reardon, now of Collectibility and formerly of Patek Philippe USA (or the Henri Stern Watch Agency, as its officially known), has estimated that around 2,800 examples of the 5970 were produced across all four metals."
Couldnāt agree more. For me, the 5970 in any metal is my favorite reference from the modern era, although P is perhaps my most favored. The other reference that
is either a close second or co-favorite is 5016P (a watch that I can only dream about). Best, Patekova

Nico, I just saw a listing on European Watch Company for a 3417 steel without the amagnetic script on the dial. Appeared to be in excellent condition. No original certificate but has extract from the archives. You could grab one of your top fivesā¦ā¦

That watch is simply incredible.
That being said. If I was in the market for one considering the huge price difference I would be absolutely very satisfied with the RG version.
