Patek Philippe

Hi Everybody,

This is my first main post.  After years of being a Rolex fan and having owned all of the Rolex sports watches range, i have recently sold them all and have purchased my first two Patek Philippes. I have a 5980/1a and 5712/1a , very lucky to get them so quickly, being a regular customer at my Rolex AD who also happens to be  PP AD he managed to pull some strings and got me the 2 watches. i am very very happy with these watches but was wondering is it at all possible to fit a leather strap to either of these watches. I only prefer stainless steel watches and am not keen on Gold watches so purchasing the 5712 in Gold or Rose was not an option. I would have considered the WG version but this was not available at the time.

Did you ask your PP AD directly?

I could ask PP but their answer could be no and that would not mean your AD could not fit the strap of a gold model on a 5712/1A (with a white gold buckle I guess).

For the 5980 I doubt it is possible as it exists only in steel and the watch is larger than the 5712!

thank you for your answer, i have spoken to my AD....and they have confirmed that PP will not supply a leather strap to fit 5712/1A...so i would say it is possible but will be very difficult to buy the leather strap if a AD won;t sell it you....anybody got one for sale!!lol!

I will put up some pics of both watches, i cannot stop looking at them they are so divine!

Hi,

You may still try to special order a strap from a specialized company like ABP in Paris.

I'd be surprised if they had never made a strap for a Nautilus. You'd have to do with a non PP buckle though!

i have sent ABP an email...fingers crossed hopefully they will make/do one...as for the buckle i think i could live without a PP one...as the beauty is in the watch itsefl.

Did ABP get back to you ?

The problem I see is getting hold of the first "link" to attach the leather strap, the one on the bracelet doesn't come off AFAIK.
