Patek Philippe

Took me 7 years to get all 3 of them. Heard alot of harsh comments (especially from another forum) saying they are ugly, not patek, 70s.....etc. Call me the minority but I like them the first time I saw 3710....could not get the 3712 but 5712 is good enough and eventaully the 5980! My next target maybe the hardest to get......original 3700.

To be honest, I would never drive most of the others cars, wear their kind of clothes, ...

Enjoy them, that is THE most important of all.

Ref. 3700 is still open, but should be not that difficult - of course if you are in the mood to pay the "huge" vintage PP bonus.

I love the Nautilus range, and you have a lovely collection there. There are many watches out there i 'dislike' but never amplify my hatred, i don;t see the reason why some people feel the need to brand a certain watch 'ugly'...The Nautilus range is and will FOREVER be an iconic watch that will be around forever. No other watch manufacturer could even pull this type of watch off..only PP could way back in the 70's they sent a shock to the horology world when the Nautilus was first introduced..

The problem is that most of the Patek I like seems to be those the majority hates. I like the Nautilus, the Aquanaut, the Gondolo Calendario and the 6000...but every time I read about these models (from other forums), I only hear bashing comments and makes me wonder am I the "odd" case here? Anyway, I like what I have, no regrets.

I think the 5070s are as big as the 5135 but seems like everyone sing praise about them. On the other hand, almost every comment about the 5135 are about it's huge size, ridiculous lugs...
My point is they both are technically big watches but everyone is so fond of the 5070s (apart from its movement) and the 5135 always too big in size? To me it has one of the cleanest dial and layout; the dial is even better looking than the 5396. Don't get me wrong, I like the 5070 and 5396 but I just like the 5135 (and Nautilus/Aquanaut) more. I happened to like the "non traditional" Pateks!!. When I bought the 3710 back in 2001, all my friends thinks I am insane not to get the all time favourite Daytona!

The 5070 and 5135 don't have the same length.

In fact the case size of the 5135 is nice but the lugs are too straight and too long for many many wrists.

On the contrary the 5070 lugs are IMO better proportionned. Still if the 5070 is superb in any colour, I prefer the volumes of the 5970 by far!

But I have a small wrist, so.....
