Patek Philippe

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question but, here goes.

I have a 5712 R which I think is stunning, my work involves the danger of marking the watch so I do not wear it when working.

I like a "busy" dial (ala 5712), what watch would you recommend around £2000/£3000 as a workhorse?

It has to be robust with simple complications, the strap material is not hugely important.

I await any answers with interest.

My answer, a Rolex submariner

For "robust, busy dial" I'd think perhaps an Omega or GP  Chronograph. 
(GP Example).

GP Also makes some nice non-chrono worldtimers that have interesting dials without the PP price

it does depend on how "physical" the work conditions are, but i dont think you go far wrong with a Rolex Sub.

I agree. Rolex Sub or GMT Master. Great watches that can take a beating without fail!

I was not sure whether to go for the Patek  5002 at £250.000 ish but,after your advise will probably go for one of your suggestions.

I always find it interesting how other owners think, the submariner was always a possibility but the others have added food for thought, once again thanks.

It's difficult to escape the inevitability of Rolex, but Omega and IWC both make watches that should meet your needs while being less readily identifiable.
