with my 5146G but the 5205 has another look in addition to some special features. It's very subjective and for an anuual calender they both work extremely well (same caliber) and are both desirable IMO. Go with your heart & disregard the small difference in price.

I tend to agree with your thoughts, but the 5146 is of course a classic looking Patek compared to the more, but still very beautiful & trendy looking 5205.
I never had any problems reading the dial of the 5146, and in fact with the cream coloured dial 5146J & G that I had, I would say that it was probably more easier to see the hands for the time then the 5205 in certain lights.
Enjoy your decision making, whichever that you go for, you can't actually lose.

The 5205 is a modern direction for Patek... the new dial looks very nice and reminds me of it's much more expensive tourbillon/minute-repeating cousin - the 5207
The 5146 have a much stronger Patek DNA, the dial and case is very much classic Patek that will last forever into the future.
