As a 25 year manhattan veteran, I assume you're not asking about safety because 1) all your watches are expensive, 2) you're only taking one watch ( ie it's on your person), 3) you don't seem like the ride-the-subway-at-midnight type of guy, and 4) you're not leaving the comfortable confines of the ues, midtown, w village/soho (unless you decide to be really cool and go to the les or alphabet city, both of which are mostly gentrified).
So then it comes down to style. Definitely white metal (understated elegance) and a watch that is appropriate for shopping in the afternoon as well as a dinner at Per Se. For that, the 5070 is best but you don't have it in white metal. Maybe one of your many 5970s.
And yes, lange makes one heck of a watch, especially the datograph.

I will be Traveling to New York from California site seeing, visiting watch stores, eating in fine restaurants having fun etc. etc. which watch would you bring along 5970G 5970P 5970R 5712R 5270G 5170J 5070R only one as I don't want to leave a PP in the room safe...Thanks

Sorry but I don't understand the question.
Choose the one you wish to wear during your journey. So you will visit shops, go to restaurants. Not a very risky life expect maybe for your wallet. I imagine that you will not use a sledge-hammer, you will not replace a dummy in a crash test... any of these watches will be perfect. I never read that any of these Patek Philippe watches wouldn't be welcome in NY... If you don't feel comfortable, take the less expensive, what can we add more?

NYC is the mecca for fine timepieces in the U.S. NYC has more billionaires than any other city in the United States. It also ranks #2 in the world for most billionaires living in the city. Besides billionaires.. there are more millionaires in NYC than any other city in the U.S. Wear any one of your PP.. you will be just fine.

Thanks! Sounds like a PP in White Gold or Platinum on the High End or 5712R if I were to go with a gold look. Another thought my A. Lang & Sohne Datograph on a Platium Bracelet. This watch I think is right up there with Patek Philippe. Do you agree?
As a NYer here is my advice....
....stick with any white metal and you will be fine. First of all it's winter and you won't be walking around sleeveless.
When indoors there won't be any safety issue
Just use good judgement and enjoy your visit here
Personally, if you are that worried about what to wear
And the unlikely possibility that you may get mugged, I would wear a Casio G Shock, that way you will blend in with about 95% of the population.
Though with the collection that you have named, I hardly expect that you are the type of person who will be walking down back streets or around any unfavourable areas!

Follow your style
I would recommend you to chose the watch that will complete your fashion style. For me it should be 5712 with denim or casual wear, 5070 with smart casual, 5970 and 5270 with wool suit and 5170 with formal suit.

I live in New York City and I wear my 5960r, 5712r, 5980 1a, day date ii rose, hublot F1, rolex daytona steel. I'm actually wearing my 5960r to the rangers devils game tonight. Its been on my wrist since the weeknd and I can't take it off for now ha ha.

I wear my watches here with prudence. A yellow gold and diamond dial daytona gets compliments but also stays hidden under a long sleeve. My work watch is a steel aquanaut and i am in the south bronx! The drug dealers surrounding me wear have fancier taste in AP and hublot. I think that a little judgement goes a long way, but then again living in new york is more about avoiding eye contact than hiding your assets. Enjoy whatever your favorite watch is, no one will bother you unless you are seeking it.

I am going with my 5970G. Knowing I will be wearing the nicest watch makes me feel special. being I am a crazy watch collector ever since my father gave me a watch I so enjoyed winding it and listing to it tick. You know what I mean...now I have PP's a very lucky guy. Thanks for all your input.
