If you look carefully the "new"
models of Patek, 5200G is the only really new thing. I'm at the moment in UK and here the price will be just a bit below 40k, so this watch does not belong to the bargain class...

About these,I must say I join your opinion here: many evolutions but no true novelty like the 5270 or the 5204, 5208 the 2 last years.
But what is enjoyable though are the black dials that pop up on several models (something Lange sadly didn't dare doing).
Not so bad for me: especially the 5216 (looks like the last Tiffanys LE I liked quite much).

Alot of people will like to see the 5170 in white gold (or is it platinum)?.
I am a little disappointed to be honest. I am not crazy about anything they have come out with.
Except for the 5170 in a white metal. Well done Patek!

Well the 5170G will be a smash hit
with Breguet Numerals??? Fuggetaboutit! Patek collectors and novices alike will go nuts. Patek is really hitting the vintage button with full force, and even in this tiny pic, it looks like they are doing it with all the right stuff.
UPDATE: just saw more pics of the 5170G and ... hmm... too many different numeral fonts... making it very busy! Not sure.... maybe another misfire in my judgement... but it will sell like crazy.

I'm also curious about the 5227 G... looks like it might be 39... 40mm? It has a hinged back.

that is too much for such a watch and this is the reason why we see the 5980, 5170, 5270 in the window.

Since when do Patek collectors (of this type) care?
Pateks are all ludicrously overpriced, and IMHO, not worth what they ask--or even close!
That is not my point. My point is, those collectors who get 'aroused' by ludicrously overpriced watches that say Patek on the dial will jump for this model. ()I should know, as I drank many gallons of the Patek Kool Aid years ago!)
I hear what you're saying about the watches in the window, but ... those Breguet numerals will extract funds from pockets.
But Bruno, I hope you are right! Because it will sober Patek up a bit, and they really do need some cold water thrown on them, after all these years of getting away with crazy price increase after crazy price increase... etc. But on the other hand, their very identity is Most Expensive, so what can they do but remain crazily overpriced?
For instance, the new 5200. 50K plus??? Beyond ridiculous. But....... anyway... these were just my Basel-wired thoughts, and as always, I offer them in a kind spirit of enthusiasm only and simply for conversation, with no pretensions of 'being right'.

There is nothing I need to get. Okay, the new 5200G is nice but the price is salty. Ladies simple Calatrava and Nautilus are nice but tht's it for me.
For the ones who do not have 5170J, the new G is quite nice.

Next Year is Patek's 175th Anniversary....
So I have a feeling Patek is keeping a few tricks up its sleeve for next year. As for the current lot - I think the 5200g in blue is a winner, as are the 5170g and the black 5960p. As some have already alluded, I think what be more interesting is what has been discontinued...the 5711/1a in blue? the 5960p in grey? And any updates about the Regulator? Also, I guess the 5711/1p was a big fake out? Some Patek webmaster's wet dream perhaps??

Very nice updates to the 5205 (the current ones are "younger" so to speak, and these ones feel more refined). The 5960R was one of my favorites given the lovely black dial to go with the rose gold case, but now this 5960P black dial has me thinking twice - just stunning fresh combo there.
The 5200 is cool, but ...
that will be quite expensive. Actually my favorite would be the white gold 5170, but I do not like the Breguet numerals on that.
So the best one in this years offering goes to my wife ;-)
I am sure, she will love the 7130.

it's certainly a very attractive novelty for someone who like this kind of shape.
As for the 5170G, it's funny you mention the Arabic numerals: I usually prefer Roman ones but on this model I think I prefer the Arabic version (It makes me think of the 5396G Tiffanys I like quite much).

I was waiting for the G but now I'm a little disappointed. I prefer the design of the J, the G now looks a little too old fashioned and a little bit feminine, doesn't it?
