Patek has increased the production, they also made many different version of repeaters. anyone have idea of how many repeaters they made each year ? or per model basis?

5% of mechanical watches (41000) are grand complications. That is 2050. Patek put that number up on the PowerPoint during our visit. Either it is true or Patek is lying to its clients. So I don't think it qualifies as a guess There are 38 Grand Comps currently in production (see 2013 brochure). 3 are ladies
To the initial post around production: 90-95% of their increased production is woman's (most) and new models (from the bosses wife in our meeting). The other 5% is multiple metals and dials at the same time. For example, 5711 was only blue last year, now in blue and white.

I have heard also this number "50". But who knows and who really cares...
If they produce 40, 60, 80 or 100 it does not make much difference. It will not happen often that we will see a PP Minute Repeater in somebody's wrist and if I would have one, the chances to meet somebody else wearing the same are minimal. I think the main thing is still the watch and not wether there ara 50, 100 or 200 of those in the whole globe.

yes, it is true, but when you paying over 300K for a watch you dont want to see it too often, so to keep the value of what you paying for. besides the relation of how much you pay, and how many they have made. I personally do not think it cost this much no matter how hard it is to make one, especially when a lot of parts are from CNC.

Wow. I don't even know how to respond to this! First the price PP charges is a function of demand and supply. If they are lucky, then their selling price exceeds their cost. In this case I am pretty sure they make money in it! Also I would say that the most costly is the level of labour involved in making it. D you know what happens to each piece cut out from the CNC machine?
Also if your purchase a watch, yes literally any watch at whatever price, this is a discretionary spend not an investment. I you want to spend 300k and make sure of value retentn I can think of 1000 different things you can spend it on.
Buy it, enjoy it, wear it admire it at home, give it to your children. Enjoy it.

What you have to take into consideration is...
What you have to take into consideration is the cost of R&D upwards of 15 million per movement, on a watch that you're going to produce only a handful of. It takes up to 2 years to assemble and test some of the uber grand comp movements... Some you have a highly paid watch maker only producing 2-3 watches a year. Besides, I was told that the super grand comps don't really make money, they actually lose money on them, even at the very high price. I was told that they are not a money maker but almost "thank you gifts" to the very big collectors, and help with the prestige of the brand.
They also create buzz for the brand, as much as high auction prices do.
Haute Horology is the same as haute fashion, Valentino's Haute Couture looses 3-4 million a year, you wonder how that's possible selling 100K dresses, but the fact is every luxury brand has a Haute collection to create lust and prestige. Why? So the masses will buy a billion dollars worth of perfume, handbags and accessories to have a connection to that brand.
