I looked around but couldn't find a definitive answer

I believe the ref. 5127 and 5110 share the same case diameter, both at 37mm, sans crown guards (although on occasion I've seen the 5110 referred to as 36mm).

And the 5110 is a bit thicker...around 10mm for the 5110 vs. 8mm for the 5127

Are the case dimensions otherwise the same? Lug length, bezel width, etc.?

They look very similar, if not the same, in pictures.

The 5110 is a bit thicker than the 5127 due to the complication layer.  But still an elegantly thin watch. 

Both watches are great pieces, and I would happily wear either variant in a heartbeat. 

Suggestion now is to try both of them on and see which one you fall in love with.

I have the 5127 and am considering a 5110, which is now tough to try on as it's many years gone from dealers' shelves

I'm fairly confident you will like the 5110.  Any reason why you haven't mentioned the 5130?  Not considering one?  Considering you're looking at the 5110 which is almost only available as a used watch, how about a used 5130? 

The 5110 and 5130 are both great crowd pleasers, so I don't anticipate you will dislike them. 

The 5110 has slightly smaller font, whereas the 5130 has larger letters on the city ring.  Maybe you should try on a 5130 and then try to imagine a 5110 as being a smaller version of that.  Or just consider the 5130.  I'm almost certain you won't find the 5130 too large.  I've even seen very fashionable women wear the 5110, as it's small enough for women and has a delicate enough of a look.

The 5130 remains a possibility, but I'm more enamored with the 5110 and its overall elegance--something I love about the 5127

I have a 7.00-7.25" wrist, so the 5130 won't be too big, and the 5110 may seem (and the 5127 sometimes seems) a bit too small. Fine under a cuff, but not the best size for short sleeves on my wrist.
