Didn't feel that big at the time.

For whatever reason, I’ve become enamored with certain black watches, more so the larger ones like Panerai. DLC coated titanium is particularly impressive since it makes a large piece more wearable. And it’s true, this doesn’t immediately strike me as 48mm, which is big. But I love this version of a cool pilot watch, although I can’t pull off a 48mm like I used to 😔.

I love the case, the lugs, the crown, the hands, the numerals, and even the branding on the dial! 👏😎

I've been playing with the idea of adding a flieger and came across the 40mm recently which was quite charming. I still think I may end up going with a Bronze stowa and the manual wind but curious to hear your feedback about wearability and mechanical feel through the crown (or do you just leave it alone since it's an automatic?).

Originally bought in 2013 for my wife while I had the 48 mm version shown above but she eventually gave up on wearing it so I took it back. It runs very well and keeps excellent time. I like the winding feel a lot but as you said it's automatic. Feels good and light on the wrist.

For some reason they went under the radar a few years ago which makes them a great option second hand (many models to choose from too).
