I considered upgrading my "t" version to "f" and now "v", however I don't think the newer version brings that much considering my minimal requirements. Beside I was browsing the Seiko dive watches today as well ; )

With my x100t I use the digital viewfinder with the back pannel turned off including no chimping. The optical has parallax correcting framelines, while the electronic is 100% coverage. The x100f back pannel is OLED, upgraded from the LED of the x100f.

The x100v is a 23mm F/2.0 fixed lens camera (35mm FF equivalent)... the lens is Version II. The images are driven via the X-Trans CMOS [4] sensor and X-Processor [4] engine.
The camera feels great in the hands and the control layout seems simple yet natural... the back screen tilts around a single axis...
Definitely worth checking out if you're looking to upgrade in that niche...

I remember...
the first time I met you in Tokyo, which is about the time I started taking up photography, I was using the X100S, an excellent little camera that did everything. You also gave me a great piece of advice - put it on full auto mode for street. 
I'm sure this new V version is even more capable and desirable.

the thing about the x100t is that it's ISO-less or near-ISO-less so there is an incredable range during post processing... plus "A-Mode" puts you in the ball park exposure wise... I also shoot using face recognition as the default... and at 35mm equivalent it makes an almost perfect casual street / social media camera.

I am a 50mm kind of guy...
so one of my concerns was dealing with a 35mm equivalent fixed lens camera... it's not been an issue. In the final analysis I ended up shooting in-camera jpgs and even then the results were such that I could crop down to get the "zoom" level that I wanted. Already the Version I lens of the x100t gives me little cause for complaint. Casey
Another option with Fuji is to get an X-E + 27mm (41mm equiv.) pancake.
Still quite small, but now you can use other lenses when you want, too. Fuji's 14mm (21mm equiv.) is really great, for example. If you're in Japan, you should have access to a huge selection of vintage lenses in excellent condition...
I agree... Fuji X-Series has some fine offerings...
and some excellent lens options depending on the situation / requirements. For me... the 'target' for this bit of gear was a fixed lens social media solution that produced quality images in a small package. My dSLR kit is the Canon 5D II, which I am happy with and didn't want to duplicate in a smaller package. For film it's the Leica MP and Nikon F3P (F3 backup body). When I travel my main camera is film so the x100t is a great second camera. Casey

I know Bellamy Hunt aka JCH very well...
I met him years ago during a photo workshop. He has an office near my home and I run into him quite often, particularly around lunch time ; ) I have some of his film cases (red for color / black for b&w) in both 5 and 10 roll size (35mm film), plus a couple of 120 format size. I use the 10 roll cases when I travel... He also makes JCH Street Pan 400 b&w negative film... which can also be used for IR exposures with the proper R72 filter... Bellalmy is a great guy... Casey

It's a nice little package...
One of the reasons for going with the x100t when it came out was quality vs. size, particularly for friends & family, food photos, and posting when on the road... still mostly a film shooter but I like to do quick updates. I had been using a small point & shoot that didn't cut it, and I wanted to avoid an interchangeable lens camera, so there was a niche I was looking to fill... it's just one of the options when I head out the door - as well, my Seiko or IWC or Zenith or … is not my only watch. to pre order the special package of X100V but I decided not to, the plus point is the weather resistance, I stick with 100F at the mean time

The T3 has a wonderful 35mm Sonnar f/2.8 lens...
Some consider it the best of the best compacts... the downside of the camera is the expense [used] and no official repairs. Casey
x100v viewfinder...
I have the x100t, which is 2 versions old (x100f & x100v) and already the hybrid optical / electronic rangefinder style viewfinder was excellent. The x100v has a 1/2 inch viewfinder with 0.52x magnification... as well as a new (compared to the x100f) 3.69m dot OLED panel. Comparison details here.
