There seems to be a general misconception about the 56
it’s a new model range but not supposed to be “entry level” even though this is probably VC’s cheapest tourbillon!!!
Myself, like Alex also thought this to be an "entry level" watch to lure so called "millenials" to the brand. [nt]

if they'd opened with the tourbillon instead of the steel model with outside movement?

Have yet to handle any 56 but this one is quite appealing from the stock pic...

Amazing , No one can deny it is Different and Magnificent . Time to stop attacking the Fifty Six and admire it .
I liked the 56 line from the start
Complications, like the day date pointer, blend naturally into the design.
The tourbi of the 56 is one of the most handsome watches from VC, imho and an utterly true VC.
Equipped with a top notch new (!) movement that suits this piece very well.
Discussion about entry level, value, pricing are not worth considering if you look at an haute horology piece.
This 56 is a display of class, grace and nobility without being too overt.
A shame I can not afford it.

I just noticed a photo on VC's website under The FiftySix Story; a ref 6073 with sub-seconds automatic. Although one may assume the piece was a 1956 model, I believe the cal 498 sub-seconds auto was discontinued with the introduction of the 1019 center-seconds auto in 1956. Where am I heading with this? The ValFleurier movement which forms the base for the cal 1236 simple automatic is already configured with unused pivots and jewels for a sub-seconds modification. Now that the tourby is out of the way, can a minute repeater be far behind? Please, in the lull between rounds of this haute horlogerie slug-fest, bring on the sub-seconds automatic!

Why in the world can't they re-issue modern watches to look more like that and other beauties within the 50's decade???

I really liked the movement of this watch when I tried the same movement in the Traditionelle case design.
One of my favorite watches of 2018, and I'd get one if I have a very good year.

I like the peripheral rotor
Unlike the base model, but like all the others, this has the geneva seal, so hand finished after the machine work, not highest end, but nice.
It's very nicely finished...
I didn't put it under the microscope; but it looked well finished, but of course, there is room for improvement! A fatter bullnose for the anglage is always more seductive, and movement plates with more concave curvature is always nice!
I saw some live photos of it.........
On another site. I have to say, it's pretty nice looking. It's the sharpest 56 model released so far.
