I just noticed a photo on VC's website under The FiftySix Story; a ref 6073 with
sub-seconds automatic. Although one may assume the piece was a 1956 model, I believe the cal 498 sub-seconds auto was discontinued with the introduction of the 1019 center-seconds auto in 1956. Where am I heading with this? The ValFleurier movement which forms the base for the cal 1236 simple automatic is already configured with unused pivots and jewels for a sub-seconds modification. Now that the tourby is out of the way, can a minute repeater be far behind? Please, in the lull between rounds of this haute horlogerie slug-fest, bring on the sub-seconds automatic!
