it is that it is so poorly applied. Also, the steel case back with Overseas logo is a giveaway that this watch isn't correct. Stay away from this watch.
The back looks like it may have a ship engraved on it...

which I believe is used exclusively on the Overseas line. If it is a ship, then I believe this watch is not authentic, as it is not part of the Overseas collection.
My reaction is very unscientific and not based on specific knowledge but this watch just does not have the VC "look". The "guilloche'" looks like it is embossed rather than true guilloche. Also, I don't recognize the design. Finally, the combination of "large" Roman numerals and the diamonds just don't go together. As I said, this is just a visceral reaction. Harv
I just do not see much quality there, even for a ladies watch. Also, how many V&C would have a gold plated top and SS back? I'd take a big pocket knife to the auction and open it up. Although there may not be much to see.
