If I could have any watch right now... I'd get the Malte Chrono perpetual in platinum... or... in the future, assuming there will be one, the Patrimony perpetual chrono in platinum...

I was just thinking about a Patek 5970G... and they are so nice... but what I really want, if I'm going to lay out 100K plus... is that VC moon!!!

Perhaps the dreadful economy will land one on my wrist???

I've been focused so long on getting my Jean Daniel Nicolas tourbillon, which I ordered almost two years ago and expect in a couuple of months, that I haven't really thought about what I want next! That'll be a nice problem to have again! It might be the boutique (black dial) Patrimony Traditionnelle Self Winding.

I often find that I like watches even more once they are discontinued, as is the case with the Malte Perpetual Calendar Chronograph.

I didn't want to say which I preferred, but now that you say so, the round case version is beyond words amazing. I too prefer it. I can't wait to see the pics. Quite a sensational choice. WOW. I admire not only the watch, but the very individual choice you have made.

it has been about a two year wait. I plan to take plenty of pictures and spin a few articles out of this watch. Stay tuned...

I've been meaning to send you a note lately. I just got an update today from Roth and things are looking good for a delivery this spring! That said, the case he ordered six months ago still hasn't arrived!

I'm still doubt my ability to come pick it up in person. Still, I'd like to get over there to visit him on the sooner side.

Indeed it has been a while since we last spoke... You definitely need to come and visit during spring - Europe is so nice at that time of year... I was thinking about this little project of yours yesterday: while it is taking some time and must require a lot of patience, it must have been such an enjoyable experience to know that there is one special watch especially made for you by one of the best in the industry (whom you know on a personal level), and get regular updates of the progress... Similar to the birth of a child

To me, it is even more elegant than the 5970.

Can't say better!

The moonphase, the aspect of the dial, the platinum case are strong points.

The only small flaw is the " pt 950 " written on the dial.

What?

A 5970 P is on to come with a blue dial?

Thanks for joining in. I've loved this watch since I first saw the pictures. I agree with all that you said. The moondisc alone raises the bar so high... it just kills me! I agree about the pt marking on the dial, but the overall watch is so amazing.... that I overlook it. Plus in real life it is so so subtle.

the pt 5970 I'll have to see in person... but as nice as it is certain to be... I don't know why, it's not 'moving' me all that much.

I totally feel your pain, as I dreamed about that watch (and its predecessor, the 47112) for about 5 years - 5 years during which I didn't buy any watch and patiently saved up so that I could buy my Grail Watch... % years during which I litterally obsessed about this watch and had mayn (painful) dreams about it... I won't bore you with all the details, but in the end I managed to get it - and I have been the happiest chap ever since! My passion/love for this piece has only increased since I've had it on my wrist. I am happy to see that you share my passion... It's almost been a year that I have it, and I never get tired of looking at that moonphase. Except for my wife and kid, the love of my life...

I agree with Nicolas that the PT950 could have been left out, but at the same time the fact that it is written in grey instead of black makes it less obvious, and I have seen watches with much more unnecessary text, so it doesn't really bother me.

Hopefully you'll enjoy these few pics, and that you'll get your hands on it sooner rather than later...

Thank you!! What a great tour of this watch!! I really am speechless, I find this watch so elevated. The moonphase is 'alive'. Stunning!!! I will save these pics and gaze at them til I one day do own this watch.

I am happy that you enjoyed the pics...

And keep on dreaming, I'm sure it will come true sooner than you think...  At least, it did for me... in the end I was able to get the watch as a result of me getting compensated for being a victim in a car crash... life works in mysterious ways, but it does work ... Of course I am not happy that the whole accident happened and I would rather have my full health back,  but looking on the bright side, I'm still alive and every day looking at my lovely moonphase.
