I should have known one Vacheron would not be enough! But the odd thing is, I cannot seem to get enough of Americans…
This American landed on my wrist late last Autumn…

I had been chasing the American 1921 for quite some time, as our gentle Moderator will gladly tell you.
Then, after I was hooked, I decided I needed to go after a more sporty VC. The Overseas had caught my eye a long time ago. But which one? Well, the answer came pretty easily.

I love the grainy dial, something the two Americans share.
So, now there are two...well, maybe three if you count the pen.

For me, these two Americans make a perfect pair of Vacherons to cover my wrist on any occasion. I feel that they complement each other so well.

The American connection is more coincidental than anything else, I suppose. One is a tribute to a watch originally produced for American collectors in the early part of the 20th century, and the other is a special edition of the Overseas Chronograph specifically designed for the American market.

This special edition of the Overseas Chronograph was born in 2007, and as Hugues de Pins told me on Monday, it was the first Overseas to be delivered on a strap rather than the traditional bracelet, a big first for the Overseas. Today, of course, we are enjoying our various Overseas on bracelets and a variety of straps. And I must say I am really enjoying the sporty strap with the red stitching that picks up on the red details of the dial.

I was truly fortunate to have had our kind Matchmaker/Moderator point me in the direction of a true Vacheron collector to find my Overseas. A few days ago, we met up in New York where he personally delivered the Overseas Special U.S. Edition to me (all the way from Poland!). In fact, the three of us spent a delightful afternoon together sharing our passion for watches and Vacheron in particular. I am grateful to both Bill and Radek! I can’t thank you gentlemen enough. Receiving this overseas in such good company and by special delivery makes the watch that much more meaningful.

Hope you enjoy the photos. Bill tells me that we have not seen this one here on the VC Purists Forum yet. Glad I can be the first, or among the first. to share it.

I am looking forward to showing it to you tomorrow. ;-)

The US Overseas suits you well and I can see you're still enjoying the special version's strap. I am anxious to hear your comments on a rubber strap. It does look great on your wrist and and you took some great shots of it, too!
May these two time only happy moments.
And of course, the pleasure is mine ;-)
"May it time only happy moments." What a wonderful sentiment.
I wish my photographic skills were up to the task of capturing these two watches.
I will let you know once I put the rubber strap on. I am sure I am going to like it a lot.
Warmest regards, and THANK YOU!

The list of VCs I desire is long and growing, but these two really are my top choices, and I feel very fortunate to have been able to get them both.
Thanks!

The special US version of the Overseas Chrono looks great with the skeleton hands, lovely grainy dial and colour combo too.
Enjoy them and thanks for sharing.

...the skeletonized hands, the tachymetre scale, the grainy dial, the luminescent dot indices, minimal writing on teh dial -- all these elements work to change the entire look of this Overseas.
Thanks,

It is always a pleasure to share the excitement of a new addition here on the PuristS site.

...if you count the pen, which is a special VC item.
Yes, my collection of VCs doubled with the acquisition of the Overseas. As for favorites -- I am happy to say only that Vacheron is one of my three favorite brands. I have come a long way since yo started pushing me towards VC.
Best my friend,

I know you're right, but why am I always looking at the next watch??? And you know what that one is to be. ;-)
Thanks for the kind words.
