Vacheron Constantin Overseas
Hi When did the Vacheron Constantin Overseas first make an appearance; i am thinking about buying this 1 ; it is my understanding that this is 1 of the first Vacheron Constantin Overseas ; my question to the group is 2 fold ; 1 does anyone have an opinion of the movement (i assume its in-house) but could it have abase eta ? 2nd if you look at the dial there is some light corosion on the 2nd hand would this be indicative of some water damage?
i own a vc chrono le historique platinum ; and i thought this vc would be a good casual watch; thoughts pls

The Overseas Chronometer model that you show in your photos was introduced in 1994 and had a ten year run before Vacheron Constantin updated the design with the models that you will find in the current catalog.
This model uses a movement from Girard Perregaux, the caliber 3100. It is very nice and thin:
I agree that the Overseas will be a nice complement to your Historiques Chronograph. Since you will be buying it preowned you'll want to make sure that the lines of the case are still crisp, that the watch comes with box and papers (and COSC certificate), and that it has been serviced somewhere along the way. If you send it to VC for service they will replace the hands as part of the service. Only a watchmaker will be able to determine if there is water damage or not. I sure hope not!

What size is it - 37/38mm?

I had one for some time, a quality watch but the size at 34 mm was too small so it was time to move to thing else. I still regret selling it.
