Several years ago, I acquired a 14''' minute repeater movement crafted by A. Lange & Söhne and elected to have it completed and encased by Andersen. The movement was such a rare thing! From the Lange Liste book we know only of 11 ladies minute repeater movements made out of which even fewer were of 14 ''' (as some were 12''') Initially, the movement lacked the gongs, prompting me to reach out to Andersen and dispatch the movement via FedEx to commence the project. The new gongs were crafted by a venerable artisan in his 80s, who had previously made gongs for Dufour's Sonnerie and Blancpain's 1735. its been some time but in the coming months the case should be done! The case will be made by hand (without CNC) by a casemaker (whose name I cannot divulge) but is notable for establishing the casemaking division of Richard Mille. The case will be styled after the famous 2499 case (a favorite of Svend's) but this time the Vichet style rather than the Wenger and the dial will be open so the minute repeater racks and springs can be seen! This is "Project 645"
