Hi everyone,
It was a true pleasure to spend few hours with Kari Voutilainen and his family few days ago. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and wonderful hospitality.
We have had the chance to visit both his workshop and dial factory. A true chance we would like to share with all PuristS.
Sorry for the bad quality of my shots and "missing" pictures as I was too absorbed in the incredible craftsmanship of all his employees. May be other PuristS will add few shots.
This burgundy dial is incredible. Isn't it?
In the dial factory.
Few examples of what they make there. You can easily guess that Kari Voutilainen works for the greatest brands independently of his.
Electroplating result examples. Dear Nilo, you have a good example of your "4N" here 😉
The electroplating room. So many baths and only one lady to manage everything. Trust me, it's not exactly a walk in the park.
No comment (at the same time I can't as I don't speak Finnish but "Diplomi" seems explicit enough 😉).
Few macro shots taken (too) quickly unfortunately.
What else than a minute repeater to end this quick tour...
...sorry no dial yet for this one (only one or two are made every year and this one wasn't finalised. Impossible to hear it ðŸ˜).

Is the electroplating room within the same complex?
This is the real definition of inhouse!
And loved see all of the dial components. I could recognise Gronefeld, Fiona Kruger, amongst others.
The Burgundy is amazing...
One thing I have noticed is that I find myself closer to brands that invest in and put a lot of passion into dials. I feel about GO in the same way.
It would be nearly impossible to only be able to spec one dial when ordering a watch from Kari - every single version in every single colour is a temptation.
His workshop and dial factory are 5 mn away by car
Regarding his dials, I'm fully agree with you. I think I won't be able to select one if I had the chance to order a KV's timepiece.

Thank you my friend for your post but huge thanks also to Kari and his wife for their fantastic hospitality
I knew this visit was going to be a blast, but to this extent I had no idea !
I shall remain completely excited about that day for quite a long time, I measure the luck we have had to live that very special day (or was it a dream ?).
And that garden party at Kari's house for our PuristS GTG will remain in the memory for ever I believe of all participants

If I could only have one watch before I die, it would be any of his time pieces. Truly, creme de la creme
