The discussion in another thread with holdemchamp encouraged me to start a thread on Parmigiani. There is lots of respect towards this brand by quite a few in this forum but his pieces don‘t get much screen time. So I decided to take a family shot of my Parmigianis and start a thread here. Please, owners and fans of Parmigiani, chime in and show us your watches!
There is also a suggestion for a separate timeout section for audio equipment. ? Explain, music and high end audio. High end audio is translate to watches, the haute horlogerie of stereo equipment. Huge amounts of money people spent on audio to get the best reproduced sound possible. This is very important by listening Jazz and classical music.
Two independent time zones; Independent AM/PM indicator for each time zone; 270° retrograde date with split second return at end of month; hand-turned coin edged bezel; In house movement and virtually everything made in-house from case, to dials, hairsprings, to even the screws!! And a micro adjustable foldable clasp as well.
Combines many of Parmigianis signature concepts and complications in one stylish package. Huge congrats on this great piece, chintu, and thanks a lit for sharing!
Parmigiani is owned by Sandoz Foundation, which needs no introduction.
The Sandoz group owns;
Parmigiani Fleurier.
Vaucher - which produces all the Parmigiani movements and also for others including Hermes. In fact Hermes bought 25% stake in Vaucher in 2006 and due to that also supplies Parmigiani with its own Hermes straps that are not available to any other watch brands
Vaucher also makes movements for Richard Mille
Atokalpa - that produces hairsprings and regulators and gears.
Les Artisans Boitiers - which produces the cases
Quadrance et Habillage - which produces those beautiful dials.
Elwin - which produces all the screws, pinions, balance staff and wheels.
IMHO Parmigiani Fleurier is a class above the rest and yet languishing in the shadows of the horological world.
It is too much of an engineering focused company with perhaps less enthusiasm for hype and marketing.
I read in a statement by The Hour Glass, that the knurling on the bezels of all Toxic watches is being done by a single artisan since the year 1996. So each piece will have a unique count of the number of knurls on the bezel!!
Wow I did not know the knurling was done by a single artisan since 1996. That just shows the attention to detail and level of commitment shown by Parmigiani as a manufacturer👍 [nt]
The only thing I‘d like to add is that the founder, Michel Parmigiani, started his career by restoring historical clocks and watches. I think in their designs you can see strong roots in tradition and heritage of the Vallée-deJoux horology, which he tries to implement in a distinctive and contemporary way. Not all of the designs are to my taste, but many are, especially from his earlier years.
And then, there‘s the Bugatti.... a masterpiece I long to see in the metal some day...
Thanks for providing further info so others could understand how complete Parmigiani is as a true manufacturer. I would go so far as to say that they are even more vertically complete than any of the big 3 😉 [nt]
Hot damn, you bringing out some big heavy weights!!

Parmigiani is one of my fav watch brands in the entire world, especially their Toric models, it is fantastic!!!! thanks for sharing and please share any more pictures you have!!
The 8 Day watch and Toric Qualité Fleurier would be awesome and anymore pics of the Perpetual Calender would be awesome!! Thank you very much and I wish for your health, wealth, happiness, and overall well being
...the stepped bezel design makes the watches a bit thicker than they have to be but totally worth it. I've always liked the slightly off-beat design of these watches, and was fortunate to have dinner with the man himself many years ago and he was very nice, so that helps : )
The Ionica has one of the best movements in my humble collection. And the 8 Days complication is really useful in daily life. I used the Ionica as the „master clock“ to set the time on the watch I was going to wear that day.
