and the rattrapante, the movement - what not to love actually ?!

i wish it was twin counter on the dial but then that is too pedantic isn't it !

gorgeous timepiece !

Best,
mahesh.,

Love it and it’s way beyond my affordability [nt]

Mmm ... in image 2 especially, the parts look like the work of a jeweller, not a watchmaker. The profile of the parts is 'wrong' and the anglage is particularly poor. Caveat emptor! [nt]

Good eye

Do you mean that the whole surface is polished, instead of the 45 degree angle on the edge?
If I'm wrong, can you explain it?

Hi, the whole surface is black polished, that is very, very good, not bad. [nt]

I'm curious about your comment about anglage, could you please explain?

Here is what SJX says:
"And then all of the parts, new and old, are decorated by hand to a degree comparable to the most prominent names in independent watchmaking, like Voutilainen for instance"
Most would agree, so I want to learn your view.

I'm going to ask for clarification here, as I don't happen to agree...

Why do you state "the anglage is particularly poor" when you are examining their work from photos? Are you a watchmaker or otherwise involved in the watchmaking world as a fine hand finisher of watch parts ,with which to pass judgement so damning as you consistently do when it comes to AdC ?
I've observed your consistent denigration and decided that it was time to question your motives here? Yes, I realize one's personal taste of finishing styles is often a determining factor as to whether or not a person likes it. To state an opinion and end it with "Caveat emptor" sends a pretty strong message that you don't believe the item in question is honest and worthwhile. If that's your opinion, as it seems to be with regards AdC, my question to you is how & why do you come to this?
As I mentioned previously 10months ago, I have visited their atelier in Barcelona, handled 3 of their early pieces and had a chance to look at them closely with a view to understanding what they are doing and more importantly for me, why create these 1950's styled contemporary watches in an artisanal Independent Watchmaking way. I came away duly impressed and with a sense of their wanting to showcase Moebius Rassman's talent combined with their sense of style and taste. While I can agree it isn't original work per se, in terms of designing a movt. from scratch, there is creative talent in designing their bridge work and certainly the hand finishing is excellent by standards out there in the fine Independent Watchmaking world that I inhabit.
Cheers,
Tim

These are fair questions, and there is a history of very harsh criticism which is fairly noted. [nt]

Overall a great looking watch

100% agree. Ever since I saw the KV tear drops I have always wanted a watch with them. [nt]

Or at least one of his case designs

First time I have ever seen this watch. That is a lot of watch! Absolutely beautiful piece. [nt]

Best, V.

Wow, that looks super nice. Just finished reading the article by SJX...

and it seems a 2 register model would be around 70.000 euros which seems reasonable for a one-off rattrapante chrono with such artisanal work.

That's really special. Wow. [nt]

Looks amazing at first glance...my only 2 issues:

 By: vitalsigns : June 26th, 2020-15:30

1) balance cock seems too angular and poorly styled relative to the rest of the sensual movement. Should have been more curved/sensual.

2) thickness. Not sure of the specs, but it looks massively thick.

It’s not thick

 By: lim87c : June 26th, 2020-21:34

Not thick at all. Only 2.5mm more than a Daytona.

Maybe it is the shape of the bezel which makes it look thick? [nt]

yes, quite possibly. Bezel height has a disproportionate effect on visual thickness. [nt]
