Rectangular watches
I’d like to canvass the purists to see if there are any favorites among the crowd. I happen to love shaped cases, although I might be in the minority. One of my favorites has to be the Lang and Heyne Georg, a watch well known to most of you.
Any other favorites out there?
Count me in as a fan of rectangular manual winds . . .
. . . with shaped movements. L & H is at the top of the list.

Another that's held an attraction ever since my first viewing: GO Karree 1845 limited editions, ca '03.
One of few regrets in collecting over the decades was passing either of these over for a Senator perpetual calendar. The perpetual is gone, but the longing for a Karree cal 42 . . .
. . . remains.

Not a fan of the lugs...
...and 'Made in Saxony' belongs on the back. Pretty movement though.

It already says Dresden on the dial? There is some sort of historical significance to doing this? Or just personal preference aesthetically?
It is given too much importance. It takes up too much space on the dial.
It is peripheral information and is more appropriate on the back.
Nothing will match that L&H.

A bit of cheating but I also love the Moser Swiss Alps, even when I hate the Apple Watch lol.

This is a gorgeous watch
Part of what attracts me to rectangular watches is their Art Deco look, and this one screams Deco

That L&H is a very nice watch. I love looking at pictures of it. That being said, I do not own any rectangular watch and there‘s none on my wishlist atm. Don‘t know why.
Maybe it‘s just not something I see myself wearing, But maybe I just didn‘t see „my“ rectangular watch yet.
When i read all those post, you could almost consider the Germans as the front runner when it comes to the rectangular watch.
