Another attempt: DB27 JPS

This is the more recent DB27 Titan Hawk release with the JPS color way. I found it fascinating how titanium can take on a range of different colors depending on amount of heat exposure. The color is dictated by the amount of oxide layering allowed to build with heat exposure. The prime example are those wonderful blued pieces that De Bethune are known for. The same treatment applies to the gold-colored hand tips and case inserts. Chemistry can indeed be fun and cool! 😎

Something about this watch gives me total Star Trek vibes! And as a bit of a Trekkie (The Next Generation is my favorite) I like this watch EVEN MORE!
Yes, their delta-shaped bridge is a common theme in many of their pieces and definitely reminds me of the Star Trek badges.😁
As far as comfort, the pivot lugs make for a comfortable, semi-hugging fit on the wrist, limited only by lack of any curvature. You’d think with this uncomplicated piece that a smaller size would/could be considered, but there must be some underlying reason for the 43mm size. Ultimately, it is the futuristic stylings of this brand which holds sway over me. And I’m sure the Trekkie connotation further influenced that.🖖🏽
It is different for their basic Titan Hawk line, but they have used the JPS color way before.
But they did do it well.

I know what you mean. Initially I actually had the last of the 10 green Titan Hawks on reserve when they came out…
but I changed my mind (since I really wasn’t ready and wasn’t sure about it in long term) and helped another forum member get it instead. So I later decided I’d like to try getting the blue, until this JOS version came out. I’ve just had an itch for a Titan Hawk that I’d been saving up for.

I recall you mentioning convincing debethune HQ to offer you an allotment, and I’m so excited to see it come through so quickly. My friend and neighbor recently got the V1 version of this titanium+black dial combo, and I have to admit that the grade 5 titanium lightness and those floating lugs design is crazy-good.
Your version is even cooler with the heat-goldened accents, which is what debethune became famous for after their initial fame with heat-bluing of titanium.
