NY Trip to Watchbox
Met up with FastWong on here and hit a few stores.
Got to try a few independents out! Was hoping to finalize on a major watch purchase but now I’m less sure than ever 😂
The DB really threw me off. Didn’t expect to like it that much. Have tried a ton of the Mb&f perpetuals out and absolutely love them but not sure how much I’d wear it, especially with a kid that loves attacking my watches with a spoon 😂
The sig 1 is amazing irl too. Kind of ruins the balancier convexe for me. I liked it a lot more than the balancier contemporarain too that we were able to try.
Gotta say, that sublime forest green GF is my favorite!

All those watches are really stunning works of art.
But for me there is just something about the De Bethune that I like the most and out of all of them, even if it is not the most complicated it just really speaks to me.

All lovely to be sure, tho stick with your MB&F. It's a feeling... and just look at the true brilliance of the movement.
Imho you should have something designed from the brilliantly passionate mind of Stephen. Really is amazing on the wrist. Am not sure if you're already a member of the Tribe, as that is a benefit others can't match.

What’s your use case for the DB?
Everyday watch; if so does that fit in reality with your everyday? These type of watches don’t for most people.
Or a special day watch? It can fit that bill, so long as your special days are somewhat casual.
Urwerk, MB&F HMs, these DB etc are all difficult watches to integrate into every day life in my opinion. But perhaps I’m over thinking it ! (I say this as one that has owned an Urwerk for 7 or so years, and have flirted with both the DBs and HMs).
And yes to the Signature 1, your partner in crime here made a very very wise decision on this one.
