That was always the plan, so no surprises in that. This is what you have seen with the Logical 1, it has ended and a new iteration is will be announced (Logical 2). This will also be what occurs with the Insight, at some point the Micro Rotor will be no more.
The C is also (relative to RGs other watches) a high volume piece. That is the intention too.
The C series of watches, which as I noted above is ongoing and does not finish with the C6 or the Carbonium, was intended to serve a specific purpose for the brand. And part of that is, yes, to produce more. Higher production as I understand it was not just about revenue, it was also about attracting, training and retaining certain skill sets.
To me, the market is so so different now. This is the real factor in what you are seeing. Buyers, or collectors, move on fast. So much of the demand is driven by wanting that new thing. So it’s inevitable that even for relatively low production watches we see them come up for sale. All of the C1 to C6 have come up for sale, and somewhat frequently. And since the first resales of the C1, the C has sold at prices close to or below retail. (The C6 seems to have been the exception to this actually. At least based on what I’ve seen in the last year or so). I know personally collectors that have sold several (including a few that sold their C6, in 2024 and 2025). It’s just how it is.
While production has risen materially in recent years, with the arrival of the C, it was still a fraction of that of even Journe in 2025. (I don’t recall exact numbers but Romain and team will happily share if you ask).
(BTW, there are currently 4 versions of the open worked dial, including the Carbonium. I don’t think it’s over done).
